Well, football is my favorite sport. That's what keeps me around.
I used to like playing WL and looking at rankings and top 100. It was a reason to play to an extent. A way to see how you stack up. They took that away and replaced it with the Season and Comp pass. So, instead of wins getting you good rewards and the ability to sell those rewards for coins, they have dictated what cards you get in the Season and Comp pass, which are usually outdated by the time you can get/use them. And now, with the minimum price cap? You cant sell anything quickly for coins.
A cheap TVP or Mystery Pack or some type of training roll is the only thing that can save and normalize the market at this point.
And regs? Regs even has rankings.
What MUT had left was being a NMS player and trying to win to improve your team. I am NMS and have a 96ovr team (could get to 97 at least, but I am sitting on cards as an investment)....and I have a great team. Now? I have little to actually strive for other then playing a football game...which I will do. But, it would be nice to be rewarded for wins, ya know?

As a player who does spend money...your statement: "spend to win what, exactly? Some meaningless H2H matches?" Was something I was thinking yesterday afternoon. Used to be my money spent got me a stronger team which allowed me to score more points in Solo Battles...Not sure how long ago it was, but I used to play Solo Battles on the highest level to get the best score possible which returned solid rewards (QS packs)...they took this away, but I continued to spend money on packs so I could win more H2H games which gave me good coins each game per win...now...I get jack. Even the Super Bowl "rewards" are not worth it. To win Solo Battles on Veteran level and rack up some stats in H2H (return a few kickoffs, get some tackles...kick extra points...and so on) you do not need a top end team. Heck you really don't need a top tier team to even win a few of those H2H games (EA will ensure you get a few wins)...so I'm with you on the spending money. Learned my lesson.
ea knows 100% that there's a problem with the market and with it being closer to the "we're ready for madden 25" phase of the game, there's nooo way madden is going to make a jurassic change to fix mut, which it needs.
Madden tried to do something good and make sr ltds somewhat easily accessible from eggs but we see where that got us. MUT is going downhill, superstar/career mode is lacklustered(there was noting like the long shot back in madden 19), and regs and franchise get boring after a while so what else is it to do but get on and just hope there's a change.
nothing in this game brings excitement like making coins, playing challenges/h2h and grinding for the team that you want, but specifically for nms this current state is ofc driving people away from them game more then people already wanted to stop playing for other reasons.
with the rewards that are free from field passes being not worth it by time you get them, bnd or are nerfed in some way and the rewards that are worth it are from challenges, after you've completed them all at this point in madden what else is it to do for coins or to try to actually enjoy this game at this point but play solo battles, h2h or wait week to week for new or additional promo drops?
