Difference between Field Pass and Competitive Pass

Why is the difference 9 days?! Isn't it usually like 3 days? I hope that doesn't mean they are going to delay the season out a week...

It was only a couple of days when Season 5 stated, so not sure how it got to 9 days.   EA had to have shortened the Field Pass at some point.

Only EA knows why but I would guess it has something to do with the fact this season is shorter than most of the others
