If i have Troy P's Universal coverage X factor which doesnt go away, should i use other abilities on him instead of the KO's since all the KOs are in his x factor essentially? Id rather wait 9 plays to get all KO's activated at once for the rest of the game then to waste ability slots on mid, deep and flat ko's when its in his X factor? Any thoughts or comments on this? Any info would help, thanks
The problem with this idea is most of Polamalu's discounts are KOs. The only non KO discounts he gets are acrobat and Chuck out and since they're both in his 3rd bucket you can only use one of them. I would still go for the free KOs just so if you run into someone using momentum shift on Gonzalez he isn't practically useless.
Honestly, UC on Polamalu seems like a waste imo unless your scheme requires him to play lots of man. A stack of deep zone, mid zone, and flat zone KO for 1 ap is great and you can save the xfactor for someone else who would benefit more from it.

I agree, for 1 AP I have all the Zone KOs needed on Troy without using his x-factor and waiting for it to turn on. Also dont need to worry about if someone momentum shifts it. (although I havent run into that at all yet). Allows me to use that x-factor elsewhere.

Yes, it's almost certainly a "waste" but there will eventually be more and more players realizing how vital Momentum Shift can be, so i'd prefer to be prepared. Also, 9 plays doesn't sound liek all that much, but it can be a full drive or two to start the game, so it's definitely not nothing. I feel liek we have so many AP on defense now, why not?
Due to all the Secure Protectors we're seeing, especially lately, i've revamped my entire defensive philosophy, instead of running D-line X-factors, i'm going three Universal Coverages, across Troy P, Nnamdi and Tariq. We're kind of due for some decent corners -- i'm still not aware of any corner in the entire game that can get the B-Dawk and/or TroyP. stack; Deep Zone, Mid Zone + PickArtist for 1AP.
So yes, it's kind of a waste as you pointed out, but i'm still doing it anyway to cover my bases. Otherwise i feel liek i'm basically giving my opponent 7 points to start the game before my defense is ready to play.
