I am having serious issues stopping the run in Dollar 3-2, any help would be greatly appreciated. It's gotten to the point where I am having to change defenses to deal with it. I have inside stuff on my dt and no outsiders on both of my ends. I recently saw a streamer talking about usering a d-lineman to stop the run was useful and was wondering if anyone had any more info on that/ any other tips to help? If I have enough time to bring the safties down it obviously helps, but with all the quick snapping it becomes much harder. Any help is much appreciated!
I usually run dime and if I see a heavy package I'll switch my defense to a nickel or go 4-4 near the goaline.
Spinner is great for stopping the run. Your user is responsible for gap shooting and ensuring you force the runner back inside on stretch plays.
If you want to bring your safeties down, call dbl safety blitz and then audible to the play you want. Your safeties walk down as part of the initial play call.
But some are really good at running so you have to adjust which means you may have to get out of dollar sometimes.
I don't understand this. You would need anti-rush abilities on your defensive backs to make this work, meaning you're foregoing the anti-pass abilities that will keep you in the game against opponents that air it out. Why not just run a formation with the personnel better suited to stopping the run?

You already seem to know what it's going to take to help stop the run out of Dollar formations, we need to be playing what is called Heavy Box Dollar defense, but instead of trying to manually walk both Safeties down into the box on each and every single play, make your life significantly easier by coming out in this Dbl Safety Go play, basically each and every single down, then audible over to your preferred actual defense, which can really be anything.
At the moment, i'm still using the tried and true; DB Fire 2, Spinner, FS Zone Blitz & Cover 4 Drop Contain as my preferred audibles -- but use what you are comfortable running and make it work for you. Coaching adjustments i use: Autoflip OFF, Base Align then go wild and do whatever you would typically do as far as adjustments. Giving our opponents an identical look with the potential to play anything from heavy Zone; Cover 2, Cover 3, Cover 4 or straight up Cover 0 all out Man to Man.
From there, the only other thing we can really do to improve is continue adding more and more Secure Tackler and/or Tackle Supremes to the roster. Deep + Mid Zone KOs all around the outside, both outside corners and both safeties, and i prefer to have PickArtist & Mid Zone KOs on my Slot corners. Hope some of this helps, please feel free to ask questions. You got this.
EDIT: don't be shy about using other formations if you're really getting hammered or facing a heavy-toter style opponent. I find that 3-4 Odd does an exceptional job against the run, but even something liek Dime might help. Regardless of what you're playing, be sure to have Secure Tackler on one or both USERs.
good lol you should have a problem stopping the run with a weak box

You are most welcome. And the folks complaining, despite certain lack of tact, they're not wrong to a certain extent. Dollar typically is going to be weak against the run, if someone knows what they're doing, they'll continue to pick us apart.
For example, I just lost a MUT Champs heart-breaker, 20-30. Kid had Derrick Henry and LT, but was killing me with this same play, over and over out of dual RB, motion Henry to the sideline, roll out towards the side side of the field and heave it up there. But his RPO run game was EEATing, I couldn't stop the run. Oh well.
There is no one-size fits all style defense, but Dollar, despite the obvious weakness, is fairly versatile and only getting better as more players have Secure Tackler or Tackle Supreme. I'm actually trying a brand new user, Rodney Harrison with Mid Zone & Tackle Supreme, he can't get juked out as easily. Waffle back and forth with Derrick Brooks which might be one of the best cards in the game.

You’re the man, I’d love to pick your brain on 3rd down passing. Im ready for one of your classic novels lol and it would also be much appreciated
Here's an idea. Don'r run a 3 man front with 8 DB's and then complain you can't stop the run.
