How do I throw deep (15+ yards) without DB undercutting the throw?

Title.

Everytime I think I have a deep route open, I hold the stick up to try and throw into the WR/TE route, only for the user to undercut the throw and pick it off.

Do I need to do a high throw?

Do I need a QB with better throwing power/DAC?

It's so frustrating. I have the passing thing on to allow placement, but it never seems to actually place the throw.

You can playmaker the throw using the left joystick to lengthen the throw, if you are on next-gen you can hold LT on the Throw to have an even further throw, Only use the High Throw If there is a User in between you and the Wide Receiver and have a tall Receiver. Using lob and touch passes is good for fades and when there is separating between the WR and DB
