What’s the point of universal if the DB ( like ward ) has flat mid and deep KO ?
It contains all KO’s Man & Zone & One Step ahead
so thats why its a necessity as it opens more AP slots for whatever you want

So in the case of ward who gets all these abilities for 0ap it doesn’t matter outside log the one step ahead , correct ?

I keep hearing it includes one step ahead, but I do not see it work like that in online gameplay. Specific man beating routes still seem to cook it, slot/te posts, drags, whips etc.

Those plays are meant to beat man coverage
especially if the WR has route tech
thats why you need KO’s cause even if they’re right behind the player they’ll still get the KO unless they possesion catch it

I have seen the defender “flash” on receiver cuts with Universal Coverage and no OSA so it does seem to have the OSA reactions as described. Unfortunately man coverage just gets beat too easily even with OSA, Bottleneck, and Universal Coverage.

I've been seeing more videos pop up that basically say when you see bunch get out of man. It's not pressable with bottleneck, and the crossing of the receivers plus man beating routes is what gets beat, but man is a lot better vs spread formations.

That makes sense. I normally just try to mix in some man blitzes to get some pressure/sacks. Definitely not something I can sit in all game against anyone decent.

I'm just saying I use UC, on all my corners except my slot cb asante samuel who has reinforcement, and I fell like I still need one step ahead as well as UC to get good results with man coverage.

nice thing about UC is I can still run zone. As long as they have mid zone KO it still gives them the break on ball reactions in most areas of the field. So if I see bunch formations I'll run more zone, and when they switch to spread formations I can switch it up to man.
