I went through the same/similar dilemma just this weekend and still not 100% certain on who my primary pass rushers should be in various situations / formations. At the moment i'm tinkering with the following setup(s):
Dollar:
- Aidan Hutchinson (RLE) -- for Momentum Shift, obviously
- John Randle (RDT) -- baked on Unstoppable Force
- Odafe Oweh (RRE) -- Colossus for a mere 1AP
However, in Nickel things get a bit more complicated, i've got the following 3-3 Cub setup, but kind of shuffling some players around as i get this dialed in:
- Aidan Hutchinson (LE)
- John Randle (DT1)
- JJ Watt (DT2)
- Odafe Oweh (RE)
- Ray Nitschke (LB)
My USER is Junior Seau, broke my heart to finally bench Aaron Donald, he's been fantastic all year, but at this point we kind of need to have players with baked on passive X-factors (as abilities), hence why i prioritized JJ over AD. I guess an argument could be made for playing Derrick Thomas at outside LB, as he's excel in both pass rush and pass coverage situations (with his 1AP Universal Coverage), but i couldn't really figure that card out, or how to best utilize it. Was concerned he might get stomped in the run game and it's difficult for me to give up the max 99 SPD / all relevant stats for RayRay, he kind of does it all. Only missing a pass rush X-factor, but if i struggle to get consistent pressure, i just keep sending more and more rushers and hope to overwhelm my opponent that way.
I also have Patrick Willis, Bruce Irvin (boosted to 98 SPD) and such, but typically only bring these guys in if i need to play 3-4 or 4-3 Even 6-1.
