WTF is with Desync

This drives me INSANE. Of course it only happens when beating the piss outta someone. Why don't you at least get the stats?? This makes me want to just delete the game, seriously nothing more deflating in MUT.

It's getting so ridiculous lately, I have at least one Desync per evening.  I was up 24-15 last night, had invested the better part of an hour in a really decent MUT Champs game (a rare instance where things were actually competitive), although I was struggling to move the ball in the second half and my opponent had a legit opportunity to come from behind in the 4th quarter.

Then, POOF, desync.  I could still hear my opponent talking to me on voice chat.  Good game jjj if you're out there somewhere.  Couple bad breaks went my way, game was significantly more competitive than the score showed.  I suspect this buggy ass game is struggling to process all the various ability stacks.  This Frostbite game engine from 2013 isn't getting any more modern, that's for sure.

But asking for a modern simulation fatball game for the hundred+ million dollars we donate to EA's cause each and every single year obviously isn't sufficient to rebuild things.  Free market, baby!  Oof.

Film Study can cause desyncs. A lot of people run it since most of the meta players can get it for 0 ap. It's annoying enough that I wouldn't blame anyone for removing it just to lessen the chances of it happening. Since you can't prevent your opponent from using film study I would recommend calling plays in a way that won't activate film study unless you really need to.

Interesting I wasn't aware of this. It seems to happen in very troll-like fashion so figured it was someone doing something malicious, not just a weird bug from an ability.

Usually what happens to me was when my opponents film study went off and I audibled to an rpo.

It's my understanding that there's certain actions that are nearly guaranteed to cause a desync if film study is being used. So it definitely can be done with malicious intent. Now I don't know for sure what causes it. But I'm also pretty sure it has something to do with audibling/hot routing while film study is active. That seems to be the common factor in most of my desyncs where it seems film study is the culprit. Now audibles and hot routes are reasonable responses to film study. Reasonable enough that it wouldn't surprise me if a fair amount of desyncs aren't intentional.

What makes this even sadder is that this bug has been in the game for years.

Had a desync earlier in a MUT Champs game that I was up 14-0 and was in complete command. My opp had Caleb Jones and was playing him at TE. I can't help but think that contributed to it. It was my first time getting a desync in MUT in months.

EA.... thats the issue. 

And Microsoft.

I rarely get a good connection where I live. Cant get fiber. Very rare I get a good connection with zero lag.
