How can I boost safety man coverage ?

Trying to boost jack tatum to a 99 man

whats the best way.

There's purple or orange defensive strategy items called Hybrid that give +2 man rating to fs/ss/cbs.

I think you can get +1 MCV from the Bears coach, I believe there's a FS +1 but not sure I've seen a SS specific boost.

Even then, that would leave you short by one, assuming he's got 96 base Man Coverage. 

Is there any reason you are trying to boost this? 99 Spectacular Catch will enable players to make one-handed grabs, but I believe coverage stats are all threshold based, once you're beyond 90, I'm not sure there's a massive difference.

Man coverage is wildly inconsistent, no matter what. Focus on abilities, IMO. Stats barely matter. Tatum is a great card, no doubt.  Sorry I can't help more, there's gotta be a way, but that's all I could conjure up.

any idea why when I press my corners 

and shade over the top

Not sure how true but I've heard from users I trust on this site that the game uses the difference between the defender's man coverage rating and the receiver's route running when it's determining the who wins the route. Not sure how much a 96 vs a 99 actually matters in the calculations. But that's always been the argument I've heard for why you want 99 man.
