My Last Run-Through of Seasons

Got a primetime cheeser in my last game in All-Star division. I hung tough until the fourth quarter, but I simply couldn't stop the constant barrage of Alert RPO's coupled with quick slant passes and stretch runs, along with rollout glitches timed to perfection. I could just never get my corners to close on the targets, and I didn't get key stops. Never really had any momentum on defense, and once his offense got a stop, he was able to run the game.

I understand that RPO's were nerfed in MUT 25. I hope all of you four-concept scrubs with no real football sense enjoy what should be coming to you in Madden 25. You deserve nothing but pain, sadness, stale bread, and stagnant water. You didn't deserve any of your wins when I never once called an RPO, and never once rollout glitched. Not a single one. Villainous and scummy, trashy, weak sauce nothings.

I understand the frustration, unfortunately it doesn’t really matter if they nerf RPO’s in 25. The same scrubs you are describing have already begun finger exercises to get their YouTube searches in as fast as possible once the new glitch plays have been advertised. Hopefully it will be easier to stop than RPO’s but every year at least 80% of the player base runs the same BS that YouTube tells them to run and makes for very unenjoyable gameplay.

I have won my last 14 H2H Seasons games and two of them were in overtime. The latest was exactly the type of player you are describing. After the game I looked through the stats and he had 115 pancake blocks against me. It felt very nice getting the W in OT with a pick six on an RPO.

If only I had gotten the RPO pick-six. Those generally happen only when the offensive player hesitates to throw. Nice job forcing the error by keeping up.

Did you have to run dirty plays in response when you had possession?

For sure, he actually ran the same RPO twice in a row and he had a big completion on the first one.

I didn’t run any dirty plays. I use coach suggestions and have a few “go to” plays that I like if I think they will work.

The RPO thing is the absolute worst. And for some reason corners can't climb up on the WR more than once every 3 plays so it's almost Unstoppable. Anyone using RPO is trash. Period.

Like somebody said earlier, it won't matter if RPOs are nerfed in M25. Sports games are always about finding the biggest exploits or glitch plays and abusing those. The only way that ever changes is if EA actually nerfs those plays during the game's lifespan but that will never happen. There will never be "real" football when it comes to Madden competitively.

That's easily my largest gripe (and there are many) with Madden. Very little actual football knowledge is required, it's all a matter of understanding the buggy ass gameplay that has remained mostly static for years and years. Anyone who has played for a ~decade, or more, just seems to automatically know that the same bugs and glitches and specific routes that dumb out defenders haven't changed in a ridiculously long time.

Man to Man is wildly inconsistent, at best, but often excels early in the year prior to abilities becoming the entire focus of the game. Zone coverage isn't much better, still get cooked, especially on those corner breaking routes. And don't get me started on the sideline glitches, which are essentially impossible to defend. I'm just salty, because it goes against my preferred way to play the game -- i realize it's a passing league, but that roll-out / scramble glitch nonsense is sheer madness. The ONLY saving grace is that most QBs will reliably fumble if they start running around liek a chicken with their head cut off. Few things are as gratifying as Caleb Jones dropping a well-timed & well placed Hit Stick on Mahomes as he scurries towards the sideline trying to get out of bounds, only to cough it up.

We're getting a much slowed down version of Madden this year (for M25), i suspect the run game will be fierce, but that is merely speculation. Haven't even seen much of the game yet, but I can without a doubt say that i'm absolutely appalled and disappointed with myself that I've signed up for yet another year of this bullshit. But what other options do we have for modern, "simulation" NFL games, ya know? Maybe the Niners will suffer from an intense Superbowl hangover and force me to detach from the football realm. If the 49ers are good, i want to recreate that magic in MUT. If they're bad, well... i also want to improve upon and recreate a different sort of magic. I just can't win. Oof.
