After this past Mut season with all of the glitches and pack odds the worstI have seen in the past decade of playing Mut. I’m content staying on 24 and possibly getting 25 Next summer. I would save so much money and time doing it this way. I’ve always wanted to do this in the past but I caved in and got the new game. I figure by next summer I can build a 99 team on 25 for relatively cheap. Anyone else going to do this?
I waited for M24 to come to GamePass. There will be people on, but with all the 0-AP abilties being handed out like Halloween candy in the last few drops, your match-ups will either be superhero squads with so many abilities you can't read them all on the screen OR relative noob squads. There's just not much in the middle.
I sat most of M24 and stayed on M23 until mid-May. I currently have a 40M lineup and 16M in coins. Definitely not bad to start late in the year.

I was trying to remain strong, unfortunately i am but a weak and feeble man. When my son asked for College Football a couple weeks ago, i caved and pre-ordered (via MVP bundle, to get Deluxe edition of both games). These games are significantly more fun when approaching them casually, IMO.
But the competitive fire i've got deep down prevents me from enjoying Madden with a shitty MUT squad, so i'm constantly forced to either waste my precious time working the auction house, or pumping more cash into the game, because that's basically what is required to keep up with the joneses. But yeah, if nothing else, i finally learned that there's not really much (or anything) valuable that we can "miss" out on, at least not this year. During M23 i wasn't able to get the BND quarterback everyone was using, can't even remember who it was now, but that's basically the only thing I missed from M23 cycle (my first time ever really engaging with MUT).
OHHH, how i wish all those chumps constantly screaming "scheme over team, brah" were even close to correct. I think we all know this shit is pay to win. If you've got money (or time) to invest, you can basically dive into Ultimate Team at any point. The only barrier to progress is cash-money-millionaire. Starting late would probably have helped me to NOT get banned from the auction house.
I'm honestly looking forward to EA bot removing me from M25, so i can finally throw in the towel and retire from the cycles of madness. It's not liek EA is all of a sudden going to pump out a great game that is fun, fair, balanced AND competitive. It'll be yet another cycle of the same ole, same ole -- if they can top their sheer greed and overall lack of effort (from M24) i will be surprised, but never say never. This was the year the gloves came off and EA gave up on even pretending to try. So much recycled, low-effort crap.
I’ve only played from launch one time and it’s not for me. I usually jump into MUT somewhere from Most Feared to Zero Chill timeframe. I stayed on 23 until Easter and finally upgraded my console and jumped on 24. Who knows if I will even get 25, the MUT train has been taking a one way trip straight to hell for a LOOOOOOONG time now. Hopefully I can find matchups on 24 long enough to keep me away from 25.
Staying on 24 until 25 releases! CDB has been erased, yuk. Bring on Madden…d
more, NEW, disappointment awaits!
The gameplay of 25 will make it worth upgrading eventually IMO.
I came back to M24 after a long break to grind rookie premiere and it's definitely a step below the new CFB. The animations are much crisper there and it feels like there is not as many random speed bursts.
I think the biggest issue with MUT / CUT is just that starting in the low 80s will make defense really suck and it doesn't tend to pick up until we start having 90 zone / man guys everywhere that actually react to the ball.

That’s why I want to skip that part of the cycle. If I start in Say June and drop a couple hundred I should be able to build a competitive team rather easily. Everyone will have over 95 man and zone by than with 99 speed probably everywhere.
Staying on, it’s much easier and cheaper to catch up than keep up with the early season grind. I’ll get back on when it’s in Gamepass.
I mean I would but it's been dead for some time shit I'd say since SB maybe even playoffs game was dead hopefully 25 will be better but don't we say that every year I mean I know this is like year 10 or 11 I've been playing mut, so long it's just become a part of life I don't really remember not doing...

I find matches within seconds still. I understand there isn’t any new content but the game isn’t dead yet. I’m worried after 25 drops I won’t be able to find matchups as easily. I’m still having fun creating different theme teams with all the TTAS players and boosts. All I play is seasons though as Mut champs hadn’t been worth it all year.

Absolutely spot on ... I can only laugh at all these people hatin on CUT right now and think that madden will be their savior
I’m still playing. It’s hard to go from 99 back to junky gold cards. Likely wait a little while or just skip it until next year.
I'm sure some people, personally i prefer the beginning of my then i switch to franchise

I won't go so far to say that college and Madden are copy / pastes of one another, but EA wastes so much damn time on meaningless crap that has zero impact on how these games actually play. I'm sure watching the marching bands and lively stadium scenes (x134, or so?) at the start of the game is nice and all, but i could not give one flying fuck about the pretty lights and sounds. I care about how our characters run around the field, how blocking and pocket protections work (or rather, don't) how the basic mechanics of the game -- and most importantly, I care about a FUN, fair, balanced and hopefully competitive gameplay.
Regardless, EA is wasting tons of the limited Dev resources into putting lipstick on a pig. They did it for M24, with the Catalogue feature being the big new introduction. Between seasons they're basically just changing sliders to adjust gameplay speed and what not, otherwise very little has (and will) change. I'm not a video game developer, so i do not fully understand what is a limitation of the Frostbite game engine, versus what is simply lack of vision, technical skill or sheer inability to execute on even the most basic ideas.
August & September MUT will probably be a ton of Derrick Henrys rumbling over defenders, to leverage whatever the most obviously broken game mechanic is as we head into M25. Obviously i do not know, i only played 10-15 hours of M25 beta (during phase 2 play test), but they are really pushing the marketing hype surrounding the broken tackles stuff. Because defenders weren't already dumb enough, now we need them to literally miss tackles. There's a strong chance the game plays liek M24 with every ball carrier having Angry Runs, all the time. We'll know real soon. See you Tuesday, oof.
