Why are the platinum QS players cheaper on the AH than the ones that sell for training? I feel like the ones that sell for coins hold their value longer.

they will, and you should buy them as rentals if you want those cards. For whatever reason, the supply of platinum cards (probably because of the 12000 point bundle) is greater than the supply of normal core elites. Why a platinum Olave goes for 20-24k but I sold a non platinum Olave for 28k IDK but take advantage. Platinum cards have begun to increase even more as players realize they can "rent 82-85" and get 80% of their coins back when they are done with them

You are absolutely correct, this is a prime example of markets being irrational.  EA has really screwed the pooch with Auction House this year.  Kind of intense way to combat all the coin sellers, now we're all forced to suffer.

Whenever feasible, stock up on the Platinum players.  If it costs extra to obtain a platinum player at a position you want, DO IT.  The only exception might be stuff liek the 85 OVR Ultimate Preseason cards, i eventually swapped out a couple of my coin cards for the real (orange) ones, so that i could benefit from the 9/9 +1 SPD boost.  Getting  both Mostert and Ward to 87 SPD has been pretty huge.
