Honestly I am feeling like throwing standard play and theory out the window and just scheming around unpredictable looks and post snap plays is best. Keep them guessing if you're in true cover 1/3 with a single high look or 2/4 with double high etc. Man, zone, match, hybrid, blitz, max cover etc; I keep it all coming. I don't like frequent cover 0 personally because it's just way too easily exposed. At least they don't have a reliably theoretical beater to go into it. Not that it changes a lot honestly.

HA, defense.  You're funny.  I'm not sure it exists in the game... not this year, or not yet.  That being said, i've had a similar experience.  Tried running the meta stuff, Cover 0 blitz doesn't work as well as CFB where you can essentially run commit on every play and the defense goes bonkers.  Man coverage is just too inconsistent.  Sure, my DBs aren't the best available, but they're not bad by any stretch; Rasul Douglas, Antonio Cromartie (took an early Legends BND with all the tokens i had) and Revis Island as of last evening, with Kam & Melifonwu over top.  Fred Warner and Nick Bolton were my SUBLB / USERs.  I feel liek this lineup should be decently competent.

I'm not really sure what to do here, either.  I waffle back and forth between randomly (rarely) running Mid Blitz 0, but for the most part i settle on this: Nickel Dog 3 Buzz -- however, stock Cover 3 kind of blows this year.  Zones are nearly as incompetent as straight up Man coverage.   It's hardly perfect, but i'm tinkering with some basic Matching principles and hoping for the best.

For coverage adjustments, i tend to put the blitzing Slot corner into a Vert Hook to help defend the streak and pray I don't get beat over top.  I typically USER the weak side coverage Safety (the greenish/yellow zone), but you can also drop onto an edge rusher and use that to drop back into coverage.  Feels liek a waste to have Lawrence Taylor playing Seam or Hard Flat zone coverage, but all of the pressure this year is coming from double A-gap blitzes.  We're basically just looking for as much speed as possible up the gut, hoping for a disengage.  Not sure any other stats really matter or are relevant, prioritize SPD & ACC... hope and pray.

I'd love to hear from anyone who is able to consistently get stops.  EA loves high scoring games, casuals hate having to sweat it out in low scoring defensive struggles.  /sigh

I know right. And I’m not even joking. Earlier today I went to the kitchen to get a drink and came back and I’d got a pick 6. It’s crazy. The D plays better when you don’t touch the pad.

Cover 2 flats eats in both cut and mut. Just need the right players, and the right defensive adjustments. Takes alot of sweat of course, but I compete over pulling out my wallet. Raidernation
