lack of depth subs

Hey, 

today on millz steam he looked to be in 43 61 with Etienne jr as right of screen backer and stingley jr as his user mlb.  i assume he does this by basically having no back ups on D, but does anyone know how madden determines which O players get subbed in where? i remember in older maddens  MLB being used as TE when there weren't so many on rosters,  i assume back up rb is OLB, any others?

He has certain players in out of position to allow that. For example he has all DEs at DT and OLBs at DE and his highest overall player on the team in that case, Stingley would be his User
