Trying out Current Gen version because the AH on Old Gen is DEAD

Hello all...

Yup... I've broken down yet again... trying to make the move to the Current Gen version of the game (and it's awful gameplay on defense).  I still love how the game plays on Old Gen but you might see 2-3 of any given LTD in total on the Auction House and of course they're always WAY overpriced due to an extremely limited supply.  I have some honest questions for those of you who play this monstrosity of a game on Current Gen:

• The adjustment to individually Press or Back Off a single DB on a receiver don't seem to do anything (eg, Y A X RS up).  Is this feature not available?

• Is there really no way to change your alignment from within an actual play (eg, Base Align... Man Align)?

• How are you stopping the standard RPO bubbles (eg, Trips TE)?  What works on old gen (0 yard Vert Hooks from your slot DB or manning him up does not work very well).

• Is there any way to turn off or minimize all these excessive post-play and post game celebrations ?  Like for example you get a pick in House Rules and you have to watch your DB Showboating in a cut scene that lasts way too long.

Also... please keep telling me how gameplay is "better" on current gen?  Maybe if I hear it more, it will become reality.

From my understanding,  you can only individually press and back off if in man. Won't work in zone. I don't think you can base align/ man align once defense is on the field. Don't know about topic #3. As for celebrations,  there are no way to turn them off.

And I know it's a HUGE adjustment playing current gen but you'll get used to it and realize it's much better than old gen.

Just change the presentation to quick presentation

I was reluctant myself last year when I switched, I tried it for a bit in 23 but hated the play call screen, substitution, player movement, etc... A switch to current gen was inevitable, honestly didn't think ea was gonna make another madden on old gen.

Game feels dead on current gen compared to other years, can't imagine old.

I'll never conclude that gameplay is better on Current Gen.  

Content... sure.  Activity on the AH, definitely.  Graphics... no comparison.  But the sluggishness on defense and especially with your user is awful.  Too many bums can just win by calling four verts every play.  Hell that's what I'm doing in House Rules with a ton of success and hell yeah I'm a bum on this version of the game.

Where is this in the settings?  Hell... I would pay EA extra to turn off this nonsense.

I hate it. I can only conclude its intentional to be able to lie to their shareholders about how much time people are "playing their game"

That's really awful.  Just two more examples of EA removing defensive tools to make offense easier.

Cant fathom how anyone prefers old gen gameplay. Its like an arcade game no nuance at all just bare bones vanilla running around. Might as well play pac man lol

I think they're just catering to the younger players who enjoy this sort of thing.  Like the stupid "tackle battle" icon that pop up every so often.

...but the Current Gen version of the game is better... right?

U can individual press. Play the training camp it teaches u how and u earn free packs

Honestly I'm not a fan of that sh!t irl lol, definitely annoys me in a video game. Idk, I feel like wanna celebrate in the endzone take it back for 6.

Go to settings is under mut and it will say event type and select quick presentation.
