Why does everyone hate Madden?

Everyone says “They never add anything new” but what do you want them to add? We already have like 6 game modes and the game of football itself never changes, so why should Madden. While yes, sometimes it gets frustrating due to glitches, but not every game is perfect. Plus, idc when people say “you haven’t played the old maddens before” when I’m having fun playing the new maddens so who cares.

Yup I don’t get it either. but hey let them cry about while we have fun right?

I think the thing people dislike is the fact that EA has been ignoring community feedback for years and the game has gotten progressively less fun. I used to really enjoy MUT as well. However, recently I have realized that I don’t actually really enjoy playing it. I get excited about the prospect of my favorite NFL players gletting good cards. In reality, these cards just lead to the game being filled with overpowered players and broken plays. It is difficult to be a casual player because the meta is always so overpowered that you either need to grind a ton or spend money. And EA is smart. They know this. Each year they say that the broken glitches will be fixed, that the game will run more smoothly, that abilities won’t make or break cards. And yet each year is the same thing with different players. It’s actually somewhat addictive. The game draws you in with good cards, and you get excited and want to get these cards. There are always cheese plays or glitches that you need certain players or abilities to counteract, such as needing out my way to counter vanguards on every player, or secure tackler so that angry runs and freight train don’t ruin your defense. This makes the store offers even more enticing. Madden is just get a good team, play h2h, repeat. And the best way to get a competitive team is to spend money. Being nms myself, it makes the game boring and repetitive doing solo challenges for a chance at a card that might have been good three months ago. Another factor is the gameplay has been getting progressively more ‘realistic’, but it isn’t realistic at all. The game have been getting slower and slower. The worst part is, I’m probably going to end up getting madden 25. The game will be the exact same as last year. The same cycle. And at the end of the year, when the game is completely broken and filled with cheese plays, I will be writing this same post about EA. It is an addictive cycle filled with a toxic player base and a greedy EA who is filling the game with literal gambling. The gameplay will be slow at first and later in the year will be filled with absolutely broken plays and cards. Thats my rant about EA, I hope this made sense. Have a good day.

I felt all this!  I literally said this in another post. Last year was my first year playing mut..  all that you said I figure it out in a years time.

Part of it is what you see as fun, is a fraction of the fun you could be experiencing.  Maybe another way to put it is on a scale of 1 to 10, what seems to be a 7 or 8 to you, is actually a 1 or 2, you don't realize what you are missing or what it could be.

There are guys that have played Madden since it first came out - 25 years ago? 

I know the quality of the game and the depth of features it had back in say 2005-2008, if I am remembering the dates right, would seem impossible to someone that thinks the current game is being improved.  It is the exact opposite in a lot of our eyes.

Great self assessment at the end there, and you are right, they ( EA ) are aware of this.  Eventually they will push you to the point where you will find something you like more.  

I hope they don't manage to put such a sour taste in our mouth when it comes to football that we will give up on it.  Someone else or lots or others need to be able to make NFL games.

Why cant I get my rewards from playing the game? Why is there zero defense?  Wjy do pack odds get lower every year? 

I personally dont complain until its brought up and because I knew going into it that the game would be 'I dont wanna say trash' but lets say buggy. Every year its the same thing. But the actual on field mechanics is so smooth and fun, the players and league is great I mean its the NFL and in theory its a great game. EA just seems to be more focused on promo's and gambling then they are customer service and happiness. At some point they should value giving back to their supoorters. Until then or until I win the lottery Im no money spent accross all EA games aside from paying for the base game.
