Opening disclosure - I couldn't figure out a way to edit the quote so I chose what appeared to be your shortest comment. Apologies, but this has become an unexpected novel
Everyone enjoys the game differently for different reasons. To comment specifically about S1 (Preseaon) for me personally, the content exceeded my expectations. As a Patriots fan and theme team guy I got far more content than I expected. That's the positive (at least for me).
Now, since EA can't help but but dish out plenty of bad to go with the good, the missing/delayed content for those that played CFB, the lack of any defense if the game, the failure to track solo battles score and probably any number of other things I'm not aware of are highly detrimental to the quality of the game.
There's no denying that you make very good points about the shortcomings of EA and they deserve all the bad "press" they get. However, like blind squirrels and broken clocks they do occasionally stumble upon good things.
I would also count as positives:
Solo Seasons (not the rewards, per se, but the concept/idea)
All Solo Battles opponents available immediately rather than just 4 every other day (or whatever it was previously)
Content (this can be subjective) all the Patriots notwithstanding, there seems to be a variety of ways to get viable cards, and generally enough to do to keep casual players engaged.
I will say, these positives are due mostly to my change in attitude towards Madden/MUT and gaming in general. I've cut back a bunch on playing time, objectives/goals and how I play. I made a conscious choice before purchasing Madden 25 that I would scale back. I essentially do daily objectives each day and try to complete recurring program objectives (AKA, TOTW, Legends, etc) as they come up. Other programs, unless there is something specific for my team needs then I ignore them.
I would rate my playing as casual-plus. In doing so, I probably avoid the worst of the issues other users have and I enjoy the game more by playing less than in previous years.
As I mentioned at the beginning, everyone can enjoy the game differently and often it's a matter perspective.
For the more hard-core/online players they have every right to be upset. Hopefully EA can get their act semi-together and square some things aways for those guys. They're really the ones responsible for making the game better for the casuals. The whales that spend endlessly, the competitors chasing the shiny new cards, the pack addicts - they flood the auction house making second tier cards more affordable for the casuals and make team building easier for them as well.
To sum it all up, there is both good and bad in this game and while it may seem the bad outshines the good, it really depends on point-of-view.
PS: Looks like maybe I should change my name to TLDR-Guy - lol
Thank you for taking the time to post such a well-thought it and well written post summarizing most of your S1. I do not particularly subscribe to the quantity over quality theory when it comes to content drops, but I hope they at least keep that aspect up until July or August of 2k25. That was a bright spot for me during M24 cycle, that EA managed to change the meta in summer with so much new content.
You have no idea how much I respect and appreciate the whole casual+ approach to the game. I've struggled to get to a similar place. Been trying to rework my headspace so I can enjoy the fun this game has to offer and simply leave the rest. Unfortunately, I'm a bit of an obsessive-compulsive type. After thousands of hours with MUT, all I can see is warts, missed opportunities and straight up lazy greed.
Because this game directly ties into 49er football, it will forever remain difficult for me to try and enjoy this in a more casual sense. We don't hang banners for NFCCC, nor Superbowl appearances. That's a good season for the Detroit Lions, not only do I expect more, I demand it.
Haven't logged on in 3 days, maybe I can make it four... and more. It's not liek EA is all of a sudden going to figure it out and patch this into a fun, fair, balanced and competitive H2H simulation football game. I obviously expect far too much of of people and especially companies that I'm giving hundreds of dollars annually. Enjoy your genuine perspective, hope to mirror your Casual+ someday. That's genius.

Thank you for the direct reply.
As a lifelong Patriots fan (5 decades. Yes, I'm old) and a late adopter of Madden/MUT (2017 was my first year playing any part of MUT) I spent my early MUT years grinding and spending and obsessing and doing whatever it took to build the best Patriots theme team I could.
What really helped change my MUT approach was first committing to a Patriots theme team in 2018 (no players other than current/former Patriots), but it was late M24 MUT that really flipped the switch. I was barely logging on each day, doing the absolute minimum to complete daily objectives (for essentially nothing in return) and running the same 3-5 plays on offense and 1 on defense. It was, essentially, a mindless waste of time.
Since I don't play H2H, I have to find ways to challenge myself to enjoy the game. Personally I'd like to see more emphasis on progression of active NFL players as I like to use more current rostered players. Don't get me wrong, there are great Patriots of the past and Ty Law will always be on my team if he's in the game. I can definitely see myself using fewer historic players this year - which will absolutely make the game a challenge as the game moves though it's cycles of higher OVR players/teams.
If you are committed to playing H2H this game, I believe, is always going to a challenge to balance between fun and competitive. Realizing, of course, the competition should be a large part of the fun but when the gameplay is poor then you have to look to other ways to get enjoyment.
After all, this is supposed to be a "game" and the ultimate objective should be fun/enjoyment.
I am wondering what the rest of the field pass will look like… I am a fan personally of the pass in CFB season 2 although that’s me as a nms player
KayleJames10 said:Yeah I might switch over to a Vikings theme team as well. Right now I've got a Raiders theme team and have the Legends Randy Moss. Eventually think I will end up with a Vikings/Falcons team because Bijan Robinsons my favorite player and I really wanna try him in game. I've never used a Bijan Robinson card.
I always do vikings tt. I'm also gonna do vikings/Falcons tt. I'm a kirk cousins fan so I'm rooting for them this year.
SquishySoldier21 said:Yeah, wouldnt be surprised to see a pack or bundle for money tomorrow with the new season for people to be able to get whatever tokens left they need.
Also, good point about people especially kids or just someone new to the game, on all the useless packs. I didnt even buy any of those until yesterday when it became evident i had leftover tickets snd not enough to max my third. Currently one short of having hines maxed (hes my fourth wr so not a huge deal) and have lewis and crosby maxed. I think my mistake was buying all the low level upgrades at once not realizing there wasnt gonna be enough tickets to max everyone at the time.
Did Deluxe Edition users get more access to S1 Tickets? I earned everything I could and have three 85’s, an 83, and a a stock Alstott.

Shame for those that did not finish S1 pass... Here's to S2, Lets GOOOOOOO!
89's bouta hit different doe
SquishySoldier21 said:Also, on the topic of the season cards, im still aggrivated that they introduced a new sysytem of having to go buy each upgrade separately and such hoping to confuse people. I only have two maxed because i didnt take out a calculator and pen and paper and chart a plan. Never had to do anything like this before and I dont believe it was an accident. It was done intentionally.
If you used your tickets on packs that’s on you. it’s a nice addition because you could have upgraded cards, which were better than expected for free cards, or use them on packs of you didnt want/need them. Giving the community a choice is always a better option.
