Question re safeties at corner

I was looking at running my SS2 at CB 4 for dime as it saves me buying a CB4 and he's way better than my options looking at stats. I noticed he's only registered as a 79 overall there but he looks way better than the other options in the 80-82 range. Is there some sort of penalty I don't know about? I was hoping to put him at theoretically slot CB2 even though I have to do it in game.

Any idea what awareness does on a CB? I thought the relevant stat would be play recognition. Maybe I'm missing something

you will notice 0 difference running a cb at s or vice versa
