So it appears that Madden 25 has fallen out of the top 25 most played games on Xbox. They are never going to recover any of these players who have left already and if they do it will be a small percentage of them. Between the atrocious gameplay and lack of casuals this game will be completely finished by the time most feared drops. I’m seriously considering leaving for good. Does anyone else think this year was the straw that broke the camels back?
No doubt Madden has made more than its share of mistakes this year (constantly messing up the RP goods as an example). Those things happen. What I cannot figure out is how they made the gameplay so much worse. Players seem clunky out in the field. AI is often terrible. I have kept going back to play Madden 24 as it is a much cleaner game despite how they made KO’s ruin it. My son insisted on getting the game this year, but he never like playing (unlike last year) and prefers FIFA 24 and now is also pushing me to buy him NBA2k (another company that has messed up their game so bad that we decided not to get it last year and switch to Madden).

It has changed a lot from what I have seen in Madden 23, Madden 24 and now Madden 25.
There have been too many issues and problems. The world is trending in the wrong direction. Not just EA, but even other companies like Microsoft put out substandard crap and have to constantly patch and update. No one seems to be doing a good job any more. There is no pride in their work and it shows. Appliances, automobiles, televisions, furniture, batteries, PlayStation remotes, etc........are all being engineered to last for a specific amount of time and will need replaced much sooner than they would have needed replaced in the past when there was honor and pride and companies tried to provide the best possible product.
Too many people are not receiving the content that they paid for and earned. That should never happen to anyone, and when it does happen, a reputable good company would go above and beyond to make things right. EA is not doing this. EA seems to have become a criminal in their actions. They are taking steps to cover up their screw ups rather than correct them. Why do you think the Ultimate Alumni Pass and list of levels earned was removed so quickly? It wasn't replaced by new content, because they really haven't provided any new content. They have strung out roll outs for more than 30 days, and the EA help is only able to view the past 30 days of activities and transactions. These things are not coincidence, they are calculated and intentional.
Every year it seems like they give us less free content and reduce the rewards and items that can be earned in the game. In Madden 24 the Grinch stole Christmas and the Field Pass and Comp Pass players were pretty much useless by the time we could get them. In Madden 25 they completely removed the Comp Pass so we get half of the packs and players that we normally get in a given season. They are intentionally slow rolling out player items they owe us in what appears to be an attempt to get people to buy more if they want to have a competitive team. The rewards for Solo Battles and Solo Seasons are terrible and pretty much useless. The few players we can get from the field pass can not be fully upgraded yet because they have not put the last 2 upgrade tokens in the store. They removed all 32 team chemistries from these few field pass players. Most casual players will probably leave this game for another. A casual player will not be able to be competitive unless they buy a team. And why would a casual player want to spend more money every time they play a game?
It’s easy enough to get people to start playing a game again: New, quality content, and fixes that are actually fixes. However, I do believe that EA’s failure to rebuild Madden from the ground up is catching up with them.
A complete reprogramming is justified and necessary. If it’s not already underway, it is likely that we’ll be having this conversation next year about MUT 26.
