Anyone enough of a glutton for punishment to be able to actually sit through this webcast?  I typically just wait for the recording to come out, it's far too boring and painful for me to suffer through, but i'm hoping for some curious or interesting tidbits to slip about the future.

I assume they'll be focused on trying to resurrect the Battlefield franchise. I haven't played, but I believe EA eventually managed to turn things around with Battlefield 2042, but that launch was as big of a mess as anything Madden/MUT related, although they are different development studios creating these games.  EA has never been able to compete with Call of Duty, they get stomped anytime there is actual consumer choice available.

Curious if they'll mention or address the ongoing negotiations surrounding the exclusive NFL license, or the final opt-in year of the contract, which is set to fully expire in May 2026.

They never talk much about Madden in these reports, if anything it’s combined with other sports games where FUT is way bigger

The thing about the license is the damage is done. It's just too expensive for a competitor to get a game up and running to modern standards. People holding onto that stick are going to be disappointed

Yes, we'll be disappointed, because all modern AAA games/studios have been infected with the same Wall Street nonsense.  Investors saw those COVID numbers and used that data to inform and forecast out for the next 5-10 years, now they're all scrambling wondering what/where those revenue streams went.  The smaller studios get consolidated through various mergers and acquisitions, or simply go out of business.

However, Take-Two Interactive (2K Games) has expressed interest in creating their own football simulation game, but only if it can be blessed with the almighty NFL shield.

This doesn't really mean diddly squat, but there's been a "TBA" game listed here on IGN for at least a year: https://www.ign.com/games/nfl-2k-tba
