Why is this community ok with cheating and exploits?

You're totally missing the point. And if it was so easy to beat you wouldn't see people with champs rewards players doing it. 

Cheese is cheese is cheese. Defend how you play all you want, but admit it's cheese.  Every year it's the same thing: there is some cheese exploit that everyone uses and as the year goes on, they slowly patch and tweak till finally the game plays decently in February.

And that's precisely how you know it's cheese, because they actively work to patch it. Why would they patch it if it was skill?

I shouldn't have to do some convoluted blocking setup, or block a RB/TE to pick up a 4 man pressure.  The blocking adjustments which supposedly pick up double mug are inconsistent at best.

I remember there was a FG block glitch a few years back, where you could get someone to shoot through the line and consistently block kicks.  Just about everyone agreed it was wrong, it was banned from online ladders, and I remember people getting reported for using it.  So it's not okay when you glitch someone through the line to block fgs, but to get sacks it's fine?  Interesting logic.

Well with your example of field goals, you're powerless, if someone knows how to block your kicks then it's going to happen. Double mug is inconsistent at best, you have to know how to adjust your shells behind it, it opens you up to big qb scrambles unless you mix in contains, and 5/6 man rushes. It's also susceptible to outside runs, it has plenty of weaknesses and is by no means an OP defense.

Glitches are unstoppable, game exploits are not.

I appreciate you not complaining about the route combos thing, but there's people on here that want that stuff nerfed too lol

thank you for helping me prove my point. The stem glitch wasn’t suppose to be in the game because it was a glitch, that’s why they removed it. Why didn’t they remove double mug then? Because it’s not a glitch and it can be beat with the right offense. I have multiple ways to beat it, usually if it’s an average player running it against me they will get out of that defense within 2 possessions.  Call it cheese if you want, but If it was that great 100% of players would be running it. I only come across it like 50% of my games. It’s dominate but not over powered.

Yeah man, me and you just fundamentally disagree on that. I've been playing Madden online for a very long time, literally the longest possible. What got me addicted 20 years ago was being able to ditch the bland cpu and having a seemingly endless pool of human opponents to match up against - the multitude of schemes and chess matches that ensue. The differing strategies and adjustments you have to make. The variety of the gameplay.

The game is in a poor state when that is minimal. And you can blame EA all you want. But we are the community, we are the ones playing the game. And 99.99% us are playing for fun. We aren't in the MCS and never will be. And to me, it's not fun when a YouTube pre snap how-to dominates the play calling.

Well we agree on something, the game is at a poor state when the variety in play style is minimal. Game is also in a poor state when the overall gameplay physics are trash. I'm not saying it's a good game, but we got a 61 disengage blitz that was the same thing for a good portion of last year. I just disagree that it's an unbeatable defense that some people make it out to be.

i'd bet dollars for doughnuts that come feb it will have been rendered so ineffective that you will barely see it.

 I think its use is a bit higher than 50%. But even every other opponent running the same thing is nauseating.

You're acting like double mug allows you to have 12 people on the field. It’s really not that bad. Trust me I’m a pretty competitive madden player and I would be running it if it’s that fool proof. Most players that run double mug would be good in a lot of different defensive formations. There’s a few run plays that beat it and you can also use certain formations with motion that will destroy double mug. I’m honestly not trying to sound like an a hole but I can dm you a few ways to beat it if you are having that much trouble. 

Im not saying I know a fool proof way on how to beat double mug every single time but I know how to get people uncomfortable if they run it. Nothing I tell you will make you score on it every time, you have to see kinda what your opponent is doing and adjust.

Uh, they tried to patch the double mug twice already.  

You will never be able to convince me that glitching someone through the a-gap rushing 4 is skillful or an intended game mechanic.  It's glitching/exploiting the game = cheating.  Plain and simple.

I had this conversation yesterday during mcs Twitch stream. One great user (happy 50th bday) and boogz saying it’s okay to use double mug it’s not cheating or a glitch you can do things to stop it. You gonna take a knife to a gun fight? That’s what they told me and that was their argument. I think a lot of people are gaslighting the situation but really EA needs to either fix it or take the play out of every playbook.

It is actually really bad.

There are multiple methods of "picking up" the "blitz" which are all inconsistent at best.  I have tried them all.

I'm not looking for auto-motion plays which beat man press etc, I understand route concepts and how to beat different coverages.  

My issue is picking it up consistently, even while blocking a RB or TE which limits you offensively if they are only rushing 4.  Playing any top player and having to block 6 against a 4 man rush is already basically GG.

If you have some method of blocking it, I would be glad to try it out...but this really wouldn't be an issue if EA would actually enforce the TOS and tournament rules against glitching/exploiting.

It also says something about the community when so many players are okay with cheating.  

Before the route stem glitch was patched, I knew how to do it but refused to because I'm not a cheater.  I'm just wondering why so many players are okay with this kind of stuff...even if EA is going to continue to be incompetent.

Crashing your line down and instantly glitching someone through the line to sack your opponent is a glitch.  

Glitching/exploiting is against the TOS and MCS tournament rules = cheating.  Saying you have to cheat because everyone else does is ridiculous.

Boogz and user were saying if it was a glitch, it wouldn't be allowed in the MCS...yet the route stem glitch was allowed in the MCS ladders earlier this year before being banned and later patched.

EA has already tried to patch the mug, so it's clear they are aware of it and agree that it is a glitch...so why isn't it banned in online MCS/online play until they can fix it?

💯 % a with you. The reason why this started in the twitch chat was because user was asking people what do you consider being a good player? My answer a person who doesn’t have to use glitch or cheese plays to win.

its not that its a glitch, but its definitely over powered, in no world should you be able to crash your dline and your tackles do nothing, and watch both pass rushers attack the same hole. lets not forget the guards will sometimes no touch anyone either, sure there's ways to give your self a literal second. but you're not gonna set anything good up. im 31 years old, i been playing madden forever. i use to play online all the time, because i could read defenses, i knew if you were in a cover 3. i knew how to beat it pre snap, but i know with double mug, i got to get a corner  open quick or ima be on my back. its cheese, idc what no one says, i can beat it, but its still cheese and no fun to play against, if they cant patch double mug, just give us running backs with freight track already activated, and turn it into a tote fest.
