Why is this community ok with cheating and exploits?

Lmao I can tell you have no idea how to beat double mug. If your first read is a corner route to beat that defense you will fail miserably. It’s really not that hard to beat. Most players run it because they think it’s the best defense but they dont even really know how to run it.

I'm not looking for auto-motion plays which beat man press etc, I understand route concepts and how to beat different coverages.

My issue is picking it up consistently, even while blocking a RB or TE which limits you offensively if they are only rushing 4. Playing any top player and having to block 6 against a 4 man rush is already basically GG.

If you have some method of blocking it, I would be glad to try it out...but this really wouldn't be an issue if EA would actually enforce the TOS and tournament rules against glitching/exploiting.

It also says something about the community when so many players are okay with cheating.

Before the route stem glitch was patched, I knew how to do it but refused to because I'm not a cheater. I'm just wondering why so many players are okay with this kind of stuff...even if EA is going to continue to be incompetent.

The motion is actually what can pick up the blitz and it throws the defesnive alignment off which allows you to beat it. I understand it’s not real football concepts but it works and we’re playing a video game so you kinda have to sacrifice your integrity a little to make it work. Or just find another game to play because madden is full of scum bags

You will never be able to convince me that glitching someone through the a-gap rushing 4 is skillful or an intended game mechanic. It's glitching/exploiting the game = cheating. Plain and simple.

It’s definitely not skillful but it’s also not cheating. It’s in the game whether you like it or not. You have to adjust.

its not the best, but please go ahead and tell me corner routes dont dust cover 0 or really any man. bunch nasty strong will also bust it up, theres alot of ways to beat it. my point is its a weak ass defense to run, all it does is glitch the o line so you get a free runner, which is why they got rid of crash down and slant inside, if you do that now your dline spreads. if youre advocating for midblitz to be ok to run youre a bum. I much rather ea go back to how it use to be, and not show the offense plays or defense plays after its ran, get rid of ask madden. make people learn how to actually play the game vs how to glitch it. same thing goes for stupid ass offenses, like flipping you play and quick hiking it so the defensive coverage breaks, it works, but it shouldnt

I’m probably not smart enough to really discuss code or the technical side of fixing gameplay issues but I too would like to see improvements here.

First small point, a yearly release of game in the modern world is unreasonable. Most gaming companies have done away with this model. Often for the specific reasons people are discussing here. The games end up a buggy mess. I think I’ve said this on the forum before.

I agree that Madden isn’t exactly a sports simulation game or at least our game mode isn’t.

Our community certainly does often choose to take advantage of any glitch or exploit available. While other gaming communities seem to be able to police themselves far more effectively. Why that is the case is up for debate. I believe a main factor for us is a game environment that’s pits users against each other instead of fostering a place where users can openly communicate and use each other to improve their experience.

With glitches and exploits I’m often not up to date with because I usually find gameplay glitches reduce my enjoyment of the game. The one time I took advantage of such a thing in a previous game I was punished harshly and it didn’t involve gameplay, as most of you could probably guess. So I steer completely clear of that stuff at this point.

I would greatly prefer if policing is going to happen that we as the community take responsibility for it. When you turn that responsibility over to corporations or governments there are always freedoms that must be sacrificed for those protections but let’s not get into politics.

Perhaps there’s a more systematic problem at the heart of it like some others here have suggested involving corporate greed, gambling, addiction and a community that feels exploited.

EA’s customer service policy of avoidance and ignorance doesn’t leave us many options.

I don’t believe we have clear rules establishing who is responsible for what. History would tell us that typically leaves the people responsible for change.

The NFL though is ultimately responsible to ensure EA is maintaining a quality product that meets/exceeds expectations of fans and represents professional football accurately or at least the way professional football wants to be represented.

I sound like a union representative. I’m not sure I like that. I decided again to edit away a large chunk about both consumer/corporate protections and rights in the states.

I am not absolving EA of responsibility. They are as much, if not most so, a part of the issues plaguing our game. I simply don’t believe that is where change can/will initiate. Nor, do I believe the buck stops with EA.

I must acknowledge in this that other gaming companies make similar choices. While others have found unique ways to serve their own interests, their client’s interests and the consumer/user interests.

Perhaps more importantly some gaming companies have not only created better access to support/help/criticisms/new ideas/communication with their community of users but encourage their users to participate in it.

I decided to edit down my rant a bit and removed a large chunk about the current deal between EA, NFL, NFLPA and OneTeam. Just want to say this:

Our communities best chance to initiate change may be now or in the very near future.

Organizing a large enough group of people to influence change is difficult and takes time or large scale oppression. I’d like to believe our community is capable of such things because I have loved football my whole life and Madden almost as long.

Now more specifics about gameplay

I don’t mind the idea of having to make adjustments to things like coverage and blocking assignments but if I go through the effort to do it I should at least see my player try and fail. Just because DB’s know Patrick Mahomes is throwing deep doesn’t mean they can stop him and just because my TE or HB knows who is blitzing doesn’t mean they will be able to effectively pick him up. If I misread the blitz I should be punished with a free rusher in my face. If I tell my coverage to play the sticks and I get burned deep that’s my fault. If someone consistently blitz’s 5-6 I should be able to check down more and more easily the more they do it.

That said I’m not at a competitive play level. I’m not playing for anything other than recreation and I don’t want to make all the adjustments a true simulation game would require. My mind goes back to childhood and how damn much I hated flight simulator and how easy games like Zoo tycoon were (was that what it was called?) I would like a casual play style somewhere in the middle. Combined with revamped algorithms to more realistically determine the outcomes in the codes math.

I would also be interested in learning more about the current algorithms. When my 90/90/90 pass block/power/finesse LT goes against a DE with 89/89/91 block shed/power move/finesse move what is the equation the code uses to determine the outcome? What are all the potential outcomes? What is the probability of each outcome? Nobody is actually going to read this right?
