I do agree with you. However, I just want what's best for this community. And, if people are quitting two months in, that just goes to show you how bad the game is and how toxic the community is. I appreciate them trying to fix things with this latest patch.  Hopefully that keeps people interested.

The continued lack of effort is finally having a direct impact on the game.  I think, at least from the sounds of lots of the die-hard, elite level MUT players I have come to know and respect on these forums.  EA has gotten away with this for SO many years now, but they finally broke me, as well.  I'm still somewhat, casually engaged, but not really spending anything on my squad, mostly just taking whatever opportunities I can stumble into to continue building my coin stack, on the off chance that things ever change or improve and i get an itch to play competitively once again.

I realize I'm basically delusional to think, hope or expect that anything can change or will improve.  EA told us exactly what their priorities were during M24 cycle, the "make or break year" allegedly -- which meant a renewed focus on pack sales.

I might have a weak moment and consider dropping ten bucks on the "Premium" field pass, but i'm holding off, out of principle alone.  This casino for kids shit has simply got to stop, i can't believe no one has tried to regulate the video game spaces, this stuff is straight up egregious at this point with how blatant the cash grabs have become.  It'd be an entirely different story if they were using the proceeds to fund a truly next-level experience, but we're still basically playing a PS3 version of Madden.  Sad and pathetic.

My poor Metties are getting absolutely stomped by Shohei and the Dodgers, but perhaps I'll finally check out MLB The Show, since we got it a couple months back with PSN subscription.  Is the game fun for a casual n00b?  Basic game mechanics actually function, pitching and hitting and what not?  I don't think I've played any baseball since the 8-bit NES era.

I hate to see us lose community members and I would encourage you or anyone feeling in a similar way that if you choose to spend your free time some other way that once in awhile when MUT crosses your mind to login take a quick look or come here and check to see if it looks like MUT could be enjoyable again to you.

I’m actually fairly pleased with the update overall to this point. I’m judging that solely off the fact that I’m playing more since the update and actively enjoying myself. That’s the ultimate measure right? I’m going to hold off my full judgement of the update until at least after this weekend and some rigorous testing/playing.

I hope a lot of you are enjoying the update too. Hopefully a good weekend of football and staying up late playing MUT.  

There are definitely still major issues in the game and a few new ones. Yay!! I still like to think we are taking a step forward. I’d say from a gameplay standpoint we got the closest thing to an admission of fault by EA we are ever going to get. That is that the poor state of gameplay and our inability to access content EA has already been compensated for was completely unacceptable and remains so.

There focus seems to be at least partially in the right place but obviously this game is more than a single patch away from running optimally. Time will tell how well they stick to it, this time. I hope they do. They should have good reason to but they have a bad track record here. I think I’m seeing positive things or convincing myself I am. Example; they made mistakes with the angry runs and ???? player packs. They got both replacements to me and others in about 24 hours. I see that effort and appreciate it. Thank You!

Finally, the premium field pass has caused a ton of controversy. I believe if executed properly the addition of field passes both free and pay could lead to good things for us. Like more content being available. I don’t know who at EA picked the terminology “good value” but it seemed to be very well timed just as the first wave of users were logging on and seeing it for the first time.

So I won’t be surprised to see more passes and premium passes come into the game gradually. It was strange to see EA seemingly move away from them at the beginning of this year but maybe they were struggling with the addition of CFB and are just working out how best to implement them. Also another thing that might come with them are things like XP boosts. Great for concurrent user metric. Maybe done with Most Feared or better yet the blitz promo. Just trying to help prepare some of you.

Yes in the modern world of gaming there must be a pay offer in some way for virtually everything because people are not only willing to buy it they ask and sometimes demand to buy it. I can’t ask EA or any other company for that matter to not capitalize on their market. As many complaints as there are I’m guessing there are as many, perhaps more, people who are feeling in some range of accepting it to interested in it to loving it. I’m curious to hear from them as well.  

Each individual gets to make their own decisions on how to spend their time and if someone else gets to comment or participate. If they choose to share any of that with you or the community that’s great and I fully support it. We can have fun, complain, grieve, debate or down right argue while being respectful.

There’s no wrong way in this context to enjoy your gaming experience.

I bought the premium pass and I’m enjoying it thus far. I like the factions and am curious to see if anything more develops there. I like the new look of the user interface. The menus feel and look smooth. I agree there should be an expand/collapse feature.

I don’t think they will separate the normal pass from the premium pass. For two reasons the more people stare at the premium rewards the more people will end up buying it and it promotes the idea that there is still a single field pass. The training packs are awful though. I’d rather have an exact amount rather than a gamble.

The main reason I like the premium field pass is that it is not a gamble. I can do the math. We need more offers that aren’t gambles. These passes can help with that. When I look at games that use a handful of passes like ours simultaneously I usually see games that have a lot more content. I feel like the developers end up having to layer in content just to fill all the passes. I’d love to log into MUT and be almost overwhelmed by everything I can do. Content to the point no individual user is intended to complete it.

I should say I don’t know exactly where competitive Madden fits into any of this. I honestly haven’t given it enough thought. Hopefully someone else here has.

If it was structured more like a year long Season pass would it be more appealing to some of you? A larger lump sum upfront with guaranteed rewards/bonuses all the time and some big rewards at every promo release? Maybe access to a game mode others can’t access? Since some of you brought up call of duty.  

I’ve talked so much about the VALUE of time. I have to say this premium pass has increased the VALUE of my time for the rest of season 3.

This is a bad product and the reason just as many people are playing 24 as 25 this year. The game really is shit.

The show is great this year honestly. I had my time with it and came to madden but of the two, there is absolutely no comparison in terms of quality, both gameplay and content. If you've debated giving it a shot I absolutely would but beware, the skill gap is big and there's a bloody steep learning curve. That being said there's also plenty of bad players online to jump on against and there's so much offline content to learn as you go
