Just came across a thread on reddit where "NMS" players were complaining that EA caters to people who spend money. They are apparently surprised that a business is trying to make money.
There are plenty of things that EA does poorly, but expecting them to run a charity is crazy.
Do these players go to other businesses and expect things for free? Or are they just naive and don't understand how the world works?
It’s a difference between being generous and pricing out the NMS player. The NMS player can’t compete this year unless they spend hours on hours flipping the action house. I don’t want free cards but at the same time don’t put every game changing card behind an LTD opportunity offer.
Why does it matter? Of course it's a business but you also don't need to price out your NMS crowd. MUT used to have a good balance but the last few years, it's all about money. I'm sure most people know how the world works, no need to insult people.
I think we have found the secret EA employee!!!! That would be the ONLY people that would actually defend the way the game has degraded over the last few years. Comparing a NMS to "charity" is ridiculous, because guess what? They BOUGHT the game! It would be a different stoy if you could go to your local store and pick up your free copy of the "Madden Roster Update" every year, but that's not happening. Having a business model to make profit is one thing. but when your business model is "Nazi Germany", you're probably doing something wrong...
I think where they are coming from is the early days of MUT. I played in the early days and you could do sets and get all your cards back And receive a coin reward. Do solos and receive a player you could auction. There used to be a trade block. There was coin packs for 7,500 coins and get 10 plus cards. Just came back this year after 4 years off and the difference is in how much money you have to spend to get anything
I've played MUT over the last 5 years and it's a significant difference in putting up a good squad NMS. I've always been a NMS player but this year is just wild. No coins for solo battles is one way EA is giving the finger to people who don't want to buy their stupid glitched-out high-priced packs. If the game is like Fortnight where it's free and you spend money on packs to get stuff I can understand. But the game is NOT free and they require you to buy packs to be relevant. The pack odds are NOT what they say it is. The best evidence is when the Legends pack was glitched there's a bunch of people that took advantage of that. They all got Wince Wilfork! Not a single guy pulled the LTD Ray Lewis! The only way to play this game mode now is to spend money, otherwise you are left behind, which was not the case a few years back.
If you love this game and how it plays you definitely should give EA more money and support them (lol)

You're correct, my only problem is maybe leave the grinder/hustlers alone. I mean, I paid for the game like everyone else, if I want to have a second acct and grind to help my main acct, they should kinda lay off. Crazy to me the game lets you make up to 5 accts, then ban you for using them to your benefit. ------ this season, I been really grinding hard to save up for the LTD Porter, I needed help from my second acct. I finally had saved up 2mil (after slowly transfering it) bruhhh, they TOOOK THE 2MIL and "sanctioned me"
I personally am just not someone who will ever understand how selling 3 million copies of a game for minimum $70 somehow isn’t enough profit for EA. Not to mention EAs other games. It’s just ridiculous. Especially when there seems to only be 3 employees that keep the game updated and maintained throughout the year.

I mean the NMS did pay $60 plus for the game which EA said they will get to play if they pay $60. EA could atleast give everyone a bone whales and NMS.
i would understand if MUT was free and you had to buy coins and loot boxes to be competitive.

I think EA is unprofessional in a lot of ways as it applies to Madden...I just don't think them wanting to make money is one of them.
As for your comment about "buying the game", I guess I just see the Ultimate Team game mode as a separate product.
The game purchase covers the game, you can play regs and franchise all you want without spending on MUT.
Expecting freebies from a business whose goal is to make money is crazy...and you shouldn't be angry at a company for trying to do so. If you don't like the product, don't support them.

They make way more from Ultimate Team than they do from selling the game. They made almost $4.5 billion on extra content sales last year.
Would almost make more sense if people asked for the game for free instead of demanding free premium content...and you shouldn't be surprised that a company tries to make more money.
Just make mut game mode free and I’ll just the $60-$70 that I would have paid for on MUT point.

Pretty much. Thats the whole point, people try to compare this game to other "greedy" or "mtx heavy" games, but those games are all either free, or their mtx dont affect gameplay, its just perks/cosmetics etc. Sometimes both.
