I’m NMS but I suck and don’t play online
im NMS spent just win and the coins will come. This is a great game just get better at playing the game. Currently 89 OVR team without Luck.
NMS RIGHT HERE AND IM COMPETITIVE. It’s all about play calling and Execution. I purchased the deluxe version and i saved my PP for when good cards came out. also I play squad duos with my buddy. I focus on my defense and he runs offense. I grind challenges and save all coins.
I'm NMS, but I don't play a lot of h2h. I'm playing more casually this year(an hour or less a day) and I only work the market when I can make a good profit. I'm currently 86ovr and have over 2.5mil coins.
If you're a hardcore h2h player, it does seem like NMS players are more at a disadvantage this year than past years. For the people saying it's all about skill, they're probably lying. If anything, it's about taking advantage of broken gameplay and running cheese plays like someone else said.
6m in coins plus another 1.5m in unsold investments/team. My team is mostly BNDs/free players but I have a few 87s to 89s for my TT (Dolphins/Cowboys 20/20) plus certain cards in key positions:
WR Cheetah (87) Dolphins TT
ROLB D Ware (89) Cowboys TT
LE J Taylor (88) Dolphins TT
QB Levis (88) (91 THP)
TE Kincaid (88) (88 Speed)
HB Achane (88) (91 Speed on Phins TT)
RE Parsons (87) Cowboys TT
FS Holland (87) 89 Speed on Dolphins TT
I got the 4600 points that came with the Deluxe version (gave me roughly 300k to start with - I still have 1550 points left) and the rest is from working the market plus playing the game. I'm not great at the actual gameplay so I'm not making crazy coins from H2H/Gauntlet/Champs, etc
I've never gotten to a Legend SB. And I have up playing Champs/Gauntlet cause I'm busy on weekends. I use the following formula:
1. Work the market each time a promo drops. Check for special offers/glitches, etc that flood the AH with certain cards and scoop them up. Then wait till the supply ends and sell them as they bounce back.
2. Buy players I want for my team when they're cheap (usually Mon to Thurs) and sell when they're in demand (usually Friday to Sun)
3. Keep an eye out for snipes (cards listed for way lower than their value... These can't be predicted but I will usually get at least one snipe per week just from working the AH in the other ways above. Eg I was working the Legends promo this Saturday and caught an 88 Ogden for 66k which I then sold for 149k
I usually lock away at least 20-30% of my coin stash as a savings account and then use the rest for cards I want or investments. And I aim to grow my stash by roughly 20% a week (I dont always hit this and some weeks I blow past it).
Hope that helps.
PS: I'm in my forties and married with 2 kids, a job and businesses. Meaning if you're younge and/or have more time on you hands, yo can easily do much better

Forgot to add that I started out grinding cheap sets with guaranteed profit. That was how I got from 300k to my first 1m. I don't do these sets as much now cause the effort involved is too much (I'd rather just play the game than banging out 2 to 5k profit per set.
Im NMS except for 4000 something points i got when i bought deluxe edition from what i still have most left. I have around 16 Millions coins and 88 ovr team. I have to say i play about an hour per day. Sometimes more and im 70% on AH and 30% playing mostly solo. I always get lots of coins, but i have to say this year i got way more then in the past at this point of the game, so i think NMS player is better off today than in the past if u know what u are doing.

I feel like this year it has been pretty easier to stack up coins/cards/training without spending money than in the past. Or maybe I'm just older than I was during Madden 17 and have better discipline about wasting my coins, lol.
This is my experience too. I bought the bundle and the premium field pass and nothing else and have an 88 rated team, with a very comfortable stack of coins. I'm not able to compete against a team full of LTD's, but otherwise have enjoyed this year more than last year. There have been some solid free cards and a lot of them to help accumulate depth
I've also played for awhile and have a good understanding of the market and a lot of discipline, which greatly helps.

Same here. I also only play just enough now to take care of my dailies, and that's about it.
Yup, no money spent, 85 off, 89 def, mostly BND players. People who spend money on packs in Madden crack me up. I feel it's bad enough to give this company money for the game, let alone spend hundreds more on top. They set it up in a way that preys on people. It almost feels like it forces losses on you so that you'll "upgrade" your team by buying packs. Some games like COD put you in a lower-rank lobby right after you buy packs so it gives the appearance that you always "go off" when you buy packs. Not to mention the glitches in this particular Madden and the slow rate at which they're patched is too much.

This is right. It's simply not possible to have the best cards, when they come out, NMS. (vs MLB the show, where it is totally possible)
But aside from competing at the highest levels of H2H, everything else is accessible to NMS.

I have spent about $200 on the game this year, mostly just to start my team. I won't spend any more the rest of the year as I'm sitting on about 6 million coins plus a stacked team.
To me, spending a few hundred dollars on my primary hobby per year seems very reasonable.
As for the gameplay, I don't agree with a lot of things EA has done with the game, but I still enjoy playing most of the time.
However, I can definitely understand someone not choosing to spend extra money on a product they feel is subpar.
That being said, I find it funny that some people brag about being NMS, then spend hours on the game grinding for a return rate of approximately $1 per hour.
As for your complaint about others having all of the top expensive cards, it seems to me that most of the best cards have become extremely affordable. You can definitely field a competitive budget squad.
I'm still rocking with 85 Josh Allen who goes for <50k. 90 Champ Bailey and 90 Jamar Chase go for about 350-400k. 88 Jason Taylor and 87 Micah Parsons are each about 100-150k and play amazing.
If you feel overwhelmed by other people's teams, to be honest they probably just take the game more seriously than you do. If you don't want to spend money, I would definitely suggest working to improve your skills at the game as you can make a lot of coins just by winning.
What that means is you are not very good at the game and have to fork over money just to compete. You are the cash cow that EA longs for. So just keep spending and hoping that someday you might develop some skills... Most likely you won't.

This is a safe space. Go ahead and tell us little buddy. Who hurt you? It's okay. You're among friends. You don't have to carry this pain with you. Let it out.
