Which do you prefer, which plays better. Does it even really matter in MUT25?
Man and zone together. If you don't do that, anyone who reads defenses will tear you apart.
As for press, I do so most often inside my own five.
If the cheat wheel didn't exist I'd suggest man. Deep zones play so weird rn. Honestly pick a zone shell and learn to adjust the interior to your opponents favorite routes. Press and shade up when you know its deep. Press and shade down when you either have safety help or you know its gonna be quick.
I've had the most success with a Man-Blitz-Press with two deep safeties for help.
Sending a DB seems to have the most success at creating pressure, but I do get beat once in awhile.
I haven't found a defense that works for everything, if it's great for passD then it sucks on runD.
Hi,
I got a +4 press purple strategy card....Does press work if you're playing zone? or is it a waste?
man blitz, live and die by it, defense sucks anyways so gonna press and send 6 every rip
I don't think it matters...I have found nothing consistent on either side of the ball. Sometimes M2M looks like the answer...then...nope. I have found the most consistency (most...but still not consistent) with match coverage.
Adjustments to take away your opponents first read over all. Mix man and zone plus blitzing and you'll keep your opponent in their toes if they can't hit their first read consistently.
Do not press every play or you'll get beat and there's nothing worse than giving up a free td.
Right now I'm liking man coverage....or, at least, coming OUT in it. For example, do you like the blitz angles on pinch buck 0, but prefer zone? Then make like Nike ® and just do it, or Linux and sudo it. Call the play and adjust it to be entirely zone coverage or whatever you want. This gets really easy to do after a while, aside from the game being a bit annoying with the controls sometimes. Of course, hybridized coverage schemes therein also work. It's my personal favorite. Cover 1 hole (press), robber or cover 2 man type plays tend to be my jam as well. I LOVE various cover 1 plays as an option to throw at my opponent.
Of note, I happen to have Sauce, Warden and Lattimore as my CBs, and all are the "man to man" archetype. So this is also just playing to my team's strengths at this point. I do believe the archetype factors in and changes things, as Warden plays a bit nerfed in zone, but noticeably is just lights out in man coverage. He hits the supposed thresholds either way. I have noticed this archetype issue in other positions as well.
Cover 4 drop, man up the potential seem streak or other quick throw, and switch stick to cover the first opening you see. It's not great but it's not the worst.
Defense sucks in general. Thats the short answer. Its as random as its ever been.
Both! They're are routes that will cook man and/or zone so......... I usually call zone and audible a DB/LB to man up to the TE, RB or Slot, etc. You gotta mix it up.

I do most zone and yes it works, just you need CBs that get good press animations and need to know which wide outs get good deep route animations. I build the people I send on streaks based off this aspect along with speed.

I mix up my defense to keep my opponent guessing
