I mix up my defense to keep my opponent guessing

This, absolutely. I won't call the same play over and over unless they really struggle with it, and even then there are some plays I would just refuse to call every play. Such as cover 0 or 2 being too vulnerable.
antitwisted said:Right now I'm liking man coverage....or, at least, coming OUT in it. For example, do you like the blitz angles on pinch buck 0, but prefer zone? Then make like Nike ® and just do it, or Linux and sudo it. Call the play and adjust it to be entirely zone coverage or whatever you want. This gets really easy to do after a while, aside from the game being a bit annoying with the controls sometimes. Of course, hybridized coverage schemes therein also work. It's my personal favorite. Cover 1 hole (press), robber or cover 2 man type plays tend to be my jam as well. I LOVE various cover 1 plays as an option to throw at my opponent.
Of note, I happen to have Sauce, Warden and Lattimore as my CBs, and all are the "man to man" archetype. So this is also just playing to my team's strengths at this point. I do believe the archetype factors in and changes things, as Warden plays a bit nerfed in zone, but noticeably is just lights out in man coverage. He hits the supposed thresholds either way. I have noticed this archetype issue in other positions as well.
I agree with you completely.
I used to - hardly ever - get picks in the game.
Suddenly, I started playing 100% Man and I started getting 2-4 picks a game.
Whenever I go back to Zone - They find a wide-open man and it frustrates the hell out of me.
I mix press, with over-the-top shade and it works great - doesn't work 100% - but it works a lot more than any Zone I've tried so far.
And you don't need to make a ton of adjustments in Man - The best players will score regardless of coverage anyway.

Oh, uh...awkward. I made that post before the game got rekt today. None of that matters anymore now that whoever took advantage of the latest glitch and was rich enough has a team of 95s now.

I realized the same think...
Some players will have a 95 overall team in the morning...
How does EA jump from two 93 rated cards to 34 95's overnight???
Thanks EA - You F'n geniuses.

Yeah, this is straight batshit insanity. They screwed up and lost a lot of engagement for everyone besides the big spenders. And I suspect even those will be disappointed soon when they realize they will only be facing each other the vast majority of the time. It's not paying to win; it's paying to have a chance.

I started a franchise today and realized that the offline play is also neglected.
I was away from Madden for 10-years and I found it the same as it was then... There is nothing entertaining about Franchise mode.
So, I think I'm done grinding - 200+ hours on MUT ends today.
