Does it make sense to continue?

Hi,

Like most others (at least that is what I think) I wasn't particularly happy with what happened yesterday.

I have a decent 88/89 team with some money spent (premium field pass etc.) and two lucky pulls that made me some coins. I never work the AH as I simply don't like it and also don't have the time. 

My coin stack going into the new promo was 6.7 million coins and I had hoped to add one or two new players.

Well, the 95s are all more in the 4-4.5 mil range and there is little benefit to buy 92s (building is out of the question as I don't have a binder full of spare 80something players), e.g. I was hoping for the 95 version of Emmitt as I still try to build a Cowboys theme team but he is way too expensive and the 92 is no real upgrade over Ickey (who is my RB and has played very well for me).

So yesterday I ended up doing nothing because I didn't know what to do and honestly at this stage I don't know if it makes sense to continue.

I don't think that there is a chance ever catching up with those who are coin rich or got lucky during the short moment when the sets were glitched yesterday.

What's your take on this?

Ride the rest of your coins out enjoy the game while you can and then jump off and save your money. In my opinion MUT is dying and they will lose tons of players next year, with how poor their runnings things.

In two weeks Zero Chill will drop with plenty of comparable stat’s on the cards. 6 million will easily buy a great team then. I know we all want our favorite players, but wait a little while and Emmit’s price will easily be half of what it is now.

I have about 30m coins and still didnt buy them, going to see how the All Madden promo is, the leaked players look good depending on what their stats are and they will be much cheaper than these TD’s

Users with many millions of coins and that play MUT as their day job were in the driver’s seat yesterday. They commanded good returns on early Team Diamonds Auction House Sales, and made another ten million on Eli Manning and Julius Peppers. The same players were a step ahead when the market collapsed a couple days ago, and although they sold their teams off four-to-six days ago, they’re now pushing 93 OVR with their current lineups, and they can run a rolling inventory of 20 LTD’s in the Auction House if they like.

For the rest of us? It would take days on the Auction House to catch up to where they are now. If you aren’t stacked today, it might be healthy to take the rest of 2024 off apart from dailies.

I felt the same way you did yesterday.  Then, I built 92 Matt Forte for my TT. Went into a few H2H ranked games just to check the temperature.  I saw one Emmitt Smith (most likely 92).  The rest of the teams were some money spent or NMS teams that I normally run into. Everyone else you will face are in the same boat. 

Here are my thoughts: With Blitz coming next week, we will see an offer(s) for way cheaper than $100 with higher odds at 95 overall players. This will cut that price point in half. Don't get me wrong they will still be at least 1.5M-3M.  Be patient these prices will come down every week. Because EA is going to keep eating off these cards by dropping half off offers, season premium pass chances to pull them, and they will eventually get put in packs . Let the dummies that need the card right now keep spending. 

Lastly, I've played about 50 H2H ranked games this season. I've seen Cunningham twice. The TD cards are going to be ultra rare.  These cards are reserved for the MCS, top 100 type of players.  They makeup about 1% of the community.  Play your normal H2H games and don't give into FOMO.  New promos will drop with 93-94s that will level the playing field quickly. We will get season pass cards. That boom or bust packs for S4 will definitely have some TD pulls as well. I've pulled three LTDs from those packs.  

Let the dummies spend their $100 for a 20% chance at these ultra rare cards. Stack your coins, build from market crash, sell off what you don't need to hold.

Personally, this is my last ride with Madden. Been an avid player for 15+ years. I'd rather spend my money and time elsewhere.

i think many in this thread have giving you great advice . Honestly , most times I lose online in H2H , it’s more because they are better players or use cheesy ass plays rarely it’s because they have god squads . Eventually with the new promos coming out the gap between everyone’s cards in those 95’s will close .

I basically only play Solo Seasons and House Rules. I just don't enjoy Madden's gameplay this year. This sort of stuff just allows me to stop caring even more as the mode is slowly turning into pay to play. Can you beat God squads if you're a good enough player? Of course, but I'm a bad Madden player so I will be left in the dust. Add in the fact that the gameplay itself just isn't fun and you have a recipe to drive away very casual players like myself. 

I'll still participate in the game going forward as the content is still fun to engage with (most of the time) but it'll be at a reduced rate for sure. Though I rarely spend money, so they won't miss me anyway. 

If College Football had better content, I would've stopped playing Madden months ago.

I don't really think Speed is that important this year. Don't get me wrong having a guy with 95 speed versus 85 speed you will see a difference however if you have a WR with 95 speed and a CB with 91 speed. The CB with 91 speed will still be able to compete.

I stopped playing in madden 21 just due to the game being stale and lack of effort from EA. This is my first year back and the first few weeks, I was enjoying it again. Yesterday was just another tally against EA and their ability to actually focus on the customer / user experience. Corporate greed has always been there but yesterday they did it with a big smile on their face With a middle finger directed at us all.  This shows ultimately you’re simply a $ to them, and making a game that actually differentiates itself from the prior installments, is just a joke to them.  Even the pros and content creators (that didn’t get a chance to exploit it … looking at you zirk) were up in arms unanimously.

They have lost a lot of players this year.  Ever try to play a squads game on a weekend or even weekday evening?  If your lucky you get one game and then hope it doesn’t desync or your partner doesn’t have a crap team.
