i know this topic has come up a lot but im still confused. Does cunningham have to be powered up to get escape artist as well? it says he needs to be 99 OVR? I have a 30/50 vikes TT.
Probably will just swtich to hurts. best abilities to use on hurts withut him being powered up?
Cunningham cannot get Escape Artist and Gunslinger at the same time. He can only get one or the other. You can check the abilities for his Power Up in the site's database here:

i don't have any abilities on him currently. still doesnt let me get escape artist.

Which Cunningham do you have? Is it the 94 OVR Bo Knows Cunningham? If so, he can get it in his third passive ability slot.
In case you're new to MUT, here's some info on how slots work:
Passive (non X-Factor) abilities can be Tier 1, Tier 2, or Tier 3. The same ability might be a different tier in different archetypes. Tier 1 abilities can be equipped in any passive slot. Tier 2 abilities can be equipped in passive slot 2 and up. Tier 3 is passive slot 3 and up. At 93+ OVR, slot 1 can equip Tier 2 abilities. At 96+ OVR, slot 2 can equip Tier 3 abilities. At 99 OVR, slot 1 can equip Tier 3 abilities. It's a bit confusing, but you can always look up the abilities a player can get in the MUT.GG database.
Since Escape Artist is a Tier 3 ability for Improviser QBs (Cunningham's archetype) and even at fully powered up Cunningham is 95 OVR, you can only equip it in Slot 3. If you have more questions, let me know and I'll do my best to answer.

if you're not powering up hurts, then id run PLE and Escape on him

How did you find the Abilities after you power up a card? This is what i see when i try it.

In the database, the abilities section always shows the abilities for the maximum upgrade tier. So for Power Up items, it shows the abilities they can get at the max tier. There's no need to go into the Upgrades tool for that.
Just did legends challenges and got Cunningham. He only has 3 ability slots? I also can’t get 0 AP gunslinger. What am I doing wrong? Is the game bugged

This is a thread for last years cunningham. In Madden 23, you have to fully power up legends to get discounted abilities
