clearly, the ability to mix themes, promos, and best of the best cards of anything seem to produce the top teams, but I mean, DO YOU GIVE MORE RESPECT TO THOSE DIEHARDS?

I definitely respect folks who are purists and dedicated to their favorite teams vs those of us chasing the stats. But to each his own and people should do what makes them happy. Except the meta slaves and general douchebags... they suck.
I mean I respect those who still do it but as far as head to head modes until like the end of the year, you’ll have holes on your team which can and will be exposed easily.
My respect for people I have not and probably will never meet in real life is not derived from how they've built their team. In most cases, I don't even know what players anyone has when I play online as I hardly ever pay attention to top 3 and never check abilities, x factors or depth chart.
In other words, play with who you want knowing I'm not judging you one way or another.

(FOR ME....) when I see someone following a theme of his favor team even when it means not using the best players, I dm him after the game to say "respect bro" and I have had many do the same to me. Especially early in season when I was using a gold card QB til my steelers got better. Nothing to do with judging real life or anything, it's just a "true fan" in game thing I guess. Which is why I hate "fantasy football" All good, everyones different I guess.

As a diehard Raiders fan, I used to be one of those theme teamers who would use non-Raiders to fill in holes on the squad. But now, I'm straight hardcore. My squad consists of only players who are Raiders or have been @ 1 time. If not, then I have zero interest in them. Right now, our weakest link is oline. I'm really hoping for a Jackson Powers Johnson center card & a Gene Upshaw in the near future.
I'm a theme team guy - 100% Patriots players and have been for a while. When I played my first full season of MUT I tired to build the best team but I kept losing and it was frustrating. I switched to a theme team and playing primarily offline and very casually.
I enjoy the game much more this way.
I try a couple of online games each year and lose but given my lack of skill, it's what I expect. I think in the 7 years of playing MUT I've one maybe 5 or 6 games online.
I'm really just in this for the team building/upgrade and to kill some time in a fun, kinda brain-dead sort of way.
Stupid to go beyond 40/40 unless you're a casual offline player
Im not pure but I have Broncos & Friends
Mostly broncos and a few of the top cards to keep me in games…. no Raiders or Cheaters on my team (besides Jamaalll Charles cus of the chem lol)

If your a pure theme team, and not mixing in a hybrid then naturally......your team will just be 50/50+
not that over 40 means anything, but your using all that teams cards

I do however have a winning record each year (meaning more wins then loses) but I don't get as much head to head time as others

MUCH RESPECT BRUH.....!!!! This is how I play too. (however, early on I did cheat with only offensive linemen)
One good thing about the way we do it, we never have to feel like we need to chase after all the new crap that's coming out. It's so eazy just knowing I need just the steelers players.
