Im not sure how many people NMS in the game or not but one thing that Ive learned from youtube videos and through my own experience playing the game NMS is the best thing to do every year is to buy "rental" LTDs and complete sets that give NCAT cards. I recommend using these cards until the final months of the game then quickselling the cards for the 250k value they will always have and buying 97+ cards for 100k or less. And this isn't the end all be all strategy if you have a favorite card you want to use by all means use it but i hate seeing everyone complain in comments about how hard being NMS is when this single tips will allow you to have a competitive team throughout the year and enable you to stack coins even if you can only play a few hours in a day or week.
For example, this ZC promo you could get some of the best "rental" and NCAT options in the game. The christmas LTDS are all meta cards that will hold a value of 250k until you decide to sell them. And some great NCAT cards you can get for about 40k from completing a set are CB DK, TE Woods, and Slay. Woods especially because he has all 90 RR thresholds and decent Run block so I would strongly suggest putting him at WR if youre lacking at the position.
Another tip for everyone is dont power up players it is a waste of coins every year and the chances of a game being decided by 1 speed stat are slim to none. I have never noticed a difference between a card when powered up and not powered up especially cuz the game is so heavily based on animations and thresholds that almost every free card reaches now without a power up needed
I strongly agree with your Power Up advice. I'm not NMS and I don't bother with Power Ups unless it's the only way to get the abilities I want or I know that player will be on my team all year no matter what. It's just too big of a waste to power up and then power down when I move on.
Thanks for the tips and welcome to the forums!
I do this "rental" strategy also, however, it does require a significant amount of up-front coins and ties those coins up for as long as your using that "rental."

yeah its unfortunate that we get about halway through the games life cycle before a lot of LTDs become rentals. But i remember using NCAT Zach Wilson and NCAT Campus Heros for about a month and a half and being able to get around 2 mil from WL and Solo Battles then finally buying some rentals around Most Feared and Thanksgiving.
I say the same thing about Powerups every year. I'm NMS as well, and I do NOT run a theme team. I always just run free cards and choose my favorite players of all time that get released into the game. So if I know there is a player I am going to use all year lime Sean Taylor, LaDainian Tomlinson, or Deion Sanders, I usually power them up to get the most bang for my buck.
Definitely agree on not powering up players until later in the season UNLESS you run a theme team and need to convert a player's team chem to reach 50/50.

I do the same rental method with platinum core elites early in the game, especially on my o-line.
