View Count on Posts

I just created a new post, and I saw that I could click on and off of it to get free views. Is this how the view count is supposed to work?

I mean, yeah, if you view something then that’s how many times you have viewed it. Is there a reward for gaining views? Or maybe you are thinking too much into this

Yes, opening a thread counts as a view. There isn't anything to be gained from inflating a thread's view count though.
