I think making it an X-Factor is a good compromise but need to see what AP costs there is with it as it shouldn't be a free X-Factor and also see what it takes to activate/deactivate it.

If contains and zones worked, then Escape Artist wouldn't be a big deal, but the state the game is in right now means it shouldn't be in the game as is.  Them making it an X-Factor makes me think they haven't addressed contains or zones though which is a bummer haha.

I agree. The main problem though is that without it QBs are stuck looking for a open receiver and not being able to evade blitzing defenders. I would be open to an ability that doesn’t improve scrambling speed but makes qbs a little more evasive in the pocket

That's exactly the thing. If people find a meta blitz, there's gonna be practically no escape in 23 without having Escape Artist filled up. It'll make passing nearly impossible.

Exactly! So they pretty much have to nerf blitzes now, or defense will be way too easy!

I got a freaking beta code!!!!! Installing it now, will give my impressions a bit later, very stoked I got picked! Beta runs from today through June 20th so lots of time to get in and play around!

I'm super excited for M23, especially for all the tributes to Coach. Cause I played 20, 21, and 22, that free 99 will be awesome for like the whole year. I wonder if it'll be upgradeable to 99, or just straight up because if they just gave those who played previous maddens a 99 at the start it'd be a bit unfair

I believe it said the 99 ovr player is for M22 not M23

There are meta blitzes now and I don't have much trouble as a pocket passer first.  I haven't used EA all year so have been forced to adjust to what the opponent is doing but I often am seeing Mike Blitz and the like out of 335 wide, rarely am I locked up by my opponent, if they're blitz heavy, that means something is being left open.

I do think that they need to improve behind the pocket speed, it should not take an ability to notice 90+ QB speed vs 80- QB speed, but they bandaid it with an OP unbalanced ability instead of making the stats matter.  It is unfortunate.
