It's that time of the year... Madden 23 is out and there being a glitchy blitz is just inevitable. Don't put yourself at a disadvantage without using it so let me do you a favor and explain how to use it in the most efficient way possible.
To block the blitz, check out this forum I created with a detailed guide on how to pick up every meta loop blitz in Madden 23!
Formation and Personnel
For this blitz, we will be using the Nickel 3-3 formation and the play is LB Blitz 0. You can put safeties at linebacker since it is a nickel formation. However you may want one LB there since this year S in the box do not play the run as well as linebackers do. I would recommend having a fast LB and a fast S at the 2 outside line backer positions. The center linebacker will be your user so I recommend a fast S at that spot.
Playbook
Personally, I would use the Kansas City Chiefs defensive playbook. It has the 3-3 formation above, but also some other great formations you can build your scheme upon. Good players can pick up this blitz so it is important to always have other options. In the KC playbook, we also can utilize Dollar 3-2 and Big Nickel Over G. The variety of plays you have at your disposal along with this tough blitz will allow you to play defense much better.
The Setup
Running the blitz is quite simple. It doesn't require much on the controller, but for newer players, with practice the adjustments will become just muscle memory.
Call the play LB BLITZ 0 in Nickel 3-3.
Step 1. Press all defensive backs. To do this, click Y/Triangle and then go down on the Left Stick.
Step 2. Pinch all your linebackers. DO NOT pinch your entire defense, but only the LBs. To do this, click right on the D-Pad and then down on the Left Sick.
Step 3. Just QB Contain. To do this, click RB/R1 twice.
Here is what the set up should look like.
How It Works
As you can see in the play art above, both of the outside linebackers are on contain angles. Like in Madden 22, these contains are extremely glitchy and will loop around tackles and even running backs. This blitz will fly in versus most players and the man coverage behind it is great too. With some abilities on your DBs, you can take the coverage and blitz to a whole new level along with the other versatile arsenal of plays in the playbook and formation.
