I saw a different guy posted this, go check out his post, too.
I am in lions playbook.
Cover 3:
I have 2 cover 3 bombs, both of them use deep post routes. When setting up the bomb, make sure u have the post running from the wide side of the field to the short side of the field. (Left hash, make sure the post is on the right. Right hash, make sure the post is coming from the left.
option 1:
pa slot options out of tight (let’s say we are on the left hash)
U need a slot apprentice on your “y” receiver to do this.
the setup is simple. streak a, corner route on y. Wait a couple seconds and ur B route will be wide open.
Option 2
Pa boot over:
slant inside wr, streak middle wide receiver, block te, curl rb. outside wide receiver will be wide open.
Cover 2: this is easily the best cover 2 bomb, as it works against middle reads, AND zone drops. It can be run from any Trips formation. I like to use trips te.
Play is verticals.
u want ur trips to wide side. for this example, let’s say u are On the left hash, so trips to the right.
Block rb. Streak B. Flat y. That’s it. After the snap, you have 2 choices. U can throw B on an inside pass lead, or X on an outside and up pass lead. If they have deep zone drops, throw b. If they have a middle read/deep third, throw X.
option 2:
pa slot options, POST from shortside to wide side. Same setup as cover 3 bomb from slot options, just flip the hash.
same concept from bunch trail setups with the post route.
