Got 2 so far, is it only mode specific as far as earning their level up stats?

Don't believe so.  I've made progress through solos and Solo Battles.  Haven't received any tokens to upgrade mine, though.

Ive received just one upgrade. SOme stats have tracked but not all, ive tried each mode i believe its just busted right now
