Does player need 2 be on field to get defensive rally?

Do u need to have the player with defensive rally on the field for it to work? Or just on your squad and on the bench?

I'd think as long as u have the ability active it doesn't matter on the bench or the field, should still work , is this accurate?

I used it a lot last year and they had to be on the field for it to work. Haven’t tried it yet on 23.

To add to this, sometimes I would just sub that player in on 3rd and 4th down because that’s when it works.

Yeah I thought so. I subbed out Seymour and my pass rush got worse lol
