What is the point of kicking to the fullback?

Whenever I play H2H season or MUT champs, I am almost guaranteed to come across someone who kicks to my fullback. I personally do not see the point of kicking to the fullback, I am almost always getting past the 25 yard line on a fullback kick so what is the point?

Typically it will prevent or reduce the chance of a kickoff being run back since full backs are usually slower and less agile than the deep return man.

It's a pain, but that's why most people do it. I honestly welcome it since I put a fast TE or RB at my FB1 spot specifically for kickoffs. I can get the ball to the 35-45 most of the time if my blocks line up, with the occasional chance at a touchdown.

Yeah I guess that makes sense, I like to run casper at FB because I dont like using top meta cards. Very rarely do I ever get a kick return TD on any type of kick though I dont know if its the fact that I use Hines at returner or what the deal is but I cant ever get kickoff TDs

I don't get a ton, probably only 1-2 this year. I find I get the best returns when I'm patient and let my blocks set up. Once I see a hole, I just hit the speed boost and go.

Its due to in past Madden,  you could take certain routes and "dumb" out the coverage team, it was very common for at least one person to house a kickoff every game.  To prevent this randomness ppl started to kick to the fb as getting it on the 30  or on the 35 was seen as  a W as hard as that is to believe.  Also typically the FB were not very good.  The kickoff block or coverage has improved but the method has just become common practice, that as you said it almost become normal.
