Well we are approaching the best part of madden quickly and I wanted to check in with everyone and see how we are all doing right now with madden and everything in general.
How is madden right now
To me, it’s great. I’m not saying it’s without errors, I’m saying it fits my time schedule and lifestyle. If I get on and the games working perfectly fine, Id do my stuff. Solos, Squads, team build, field pass stuff, etc.
Those times when its EA is struggling to figure out their junk and glitches, bugs and delays strike, I find something better to do with my life. Call of Duty time, take the kids to the park, sleep, rake leaves. It’s whatever. I’m not saying the games perfect, but the amount of time I do enjoy the game outweighs the burden it’s put on me. So many people make their whole lives about this game that they tend to forget that no one is forcing them to play it.
I’ll get my $100 worth of Madden time by years‘ end. If not, oh well. I’ll sleep fine at night and still not need to go see a therapist because of anger issues caused by a video game. 😎
Game play is decent - the technical issues with regards to field passes, rewards, progression, etc has had a big impact on the overall game quality
Card prices are on the high side but as a theme team guy it hasn't hurt too much
I'd like to see more regular content drops like heavyweights, flashbacks, vets, etc.
Divisional player of the week/month as awarded by the NFL would be cool too.
Ability to change uniform numbers, all available jerseys, things of that nature while not critical could go a long way to improving the overall quality of life within the game

Ditto - 100%

I will definitely agree with you here. Card prices this year, especially right at the start we’re crazy high. With getting rid of powerups and therefore theme teams having to rely on obtaining the top card instead of powering up to just right before it, those Higher cards are in demand now since they are needed.
On the flip side, say that Khalil Mack 85 core elite I'm sitting on, with the new Mack being announced for today, in the past that core elite who sky-rocket. Now, that cards plummeted to a crappy price where it’s just peanuts to get back from auction house.
I definitely enjoy this game but it does suck how much it's breaking down. I also don't like how much hate it's getting, because if you were that pissed off with the game, why continue to play it? But anyway I really enjoy the game in spite of the bugs
Pretty bored. It has just gotten stale for me after so many years. It is essentially the same game annually, and it may be a year to sit out in 2023 with NCAA set to release.

For me, personally, I don't play H2H except on the rare occasion I want to give it a try so I'm reminded why I don't play H2H.
As such, I've been able to hold off on even chasing the latest card for my theme team unless it's a player I really want.. My team, right now, is an 87 OVR and does all I need it to do the way I play MUT.
I did splurge on Ty Law and other DBs because to me, those are high value positions and Ty Law is probably my all-time favorite Patriot
I think it is very close to being an excellent game. The free form passing is awesome.
these complaints are not new, but: agg catches, xp tracking, and that formation in the colts playbook that glitches the DB are bad.
oh and kicker abilities not working in the second is awful.
but other than that I really like it.
When its works, its great. When it doesnt, it blows.
My only complaint but its the good the way they do it is the promo is the same over and over with the same type. Its nice to get super cheap upgrades but eh.
Harvest is going to be like GG where its going to cost 700-900k for 5 of them to start and cost you 150-200k for those upgrades at the end after selling. Yeah getting some new 90s is great and all but theyre minor upgrades at best. I wish we had another CH promo so we could get a bundle of cheaper legend players.

Yeah that was the nice thing about pups. Free upgrades you dont have to use as back ups and older cards had value. Now if I pull something that I dont immediately use in a set or whatever I just sell because the longer I hold it the more that price bottoms out.

I mean I totally get that. I grind the comp pass to get the player but it is boring... but you say the same game annually and then say youre going to get the game that does the exact same thing XD
Gameplay is nice. Issues when it comes to FP rewards, H2H glitches, no solos, etc are not nice.
Like Kaoti said, when it works, it's great. When it doesn't it sucks.
My answer? Ohio.

I have always preferred NCAA. Far more teams to choose from and to play against, better pageantry and atmosphere, better option plays, and I prefer the recruiting process to free agency in Madden. But I also loved importing my guys into Madden to enjoy pro careers, if that returns EA might trap me into both!
