Elway Sell Off?

I watched a YouTube video from ijoebruin and he said that he sold off his elway. He also said that he would only do this when he knew a certain card with slinger 1 release was coming. Do you guys think there is any substance to this?

Elway's price is down to around 3.8 million right now. Would a slinger 1 QB take him into the 2 millions?

Any top end QB with slinger 1 that gets released moving forward will have an impact, even if it's only a slight impact, on Elway's price. The biggest variables that determine the impact a new top end slinger 1 QB will have on Elway is: how accessible it is (LTD or has a set), discounted abilities it comes with and how many player-specific ability slots, and when the new QB is released.

If the new QB is an LTD with terrible discounted abilities, then Elway might drop a little at first, but quickly rebound to where it was before the QB was released. If we get it as a harvest champion, top blitz card, or the blitz master and it comes with the best abilities discounted under 2 ability slots, then Elway may drop into the 2 millions. If the new QB drops during blitz after the TVP is removed, then who knows how low Elway's price could drop.

This is a pretty spot on assessment. There are a ton of variables when gauging how much Elway's price drops with a new Rodgers (or any other slinger 1 QB) card. It's almost certain he drops at least a little bit regardless simply because people will want to cash out and go to the slightly worse, but significantly cheaper, option, but he could rebound pretty quickly if the ability combos/discounts just aren't there to justify selling Elway if you can afford to keep him.

I don't think there's much to what that dude did.  I'm quite sure he doesn't have a backstage pass to EA.
