Tournament Preview
A tournament that began with over 20,000 registered competitors is now down to the final eight. Of the eight, five are previous Madden champions and all of them have previous made live events. These really are some of the best Madden players in the world and there will be no shortage of action in tonight's games. Here is a quick overview of each matchup:
Gabagol vs. JonBeast
Gabagol and JonBeast train together, so they know each other's tendencies, strengths, and weaknesses. JonBeast is best known for winning the Ultimate Kickoff back in Madden 22. Gabagol has consistently been a top player over the past few seasons, but he has never been able to win an elusive MCS championship belt.
Dubby vs. Henry
This is the game of the night. Dubby has a chance to break his own record for the oldest Madden champion ever, a record he set back during the Madden Bowl in 2017. Since then, he has built one of the biggest Madden Twitch channels and developed a huge following in the Madden community. His reaction to qualifying for the live event tells you everything you need to know about how much being back at a live event means to Dubby.
All that said, Dubby has his work cut out for him. He's matching up against Henry, who is the #1 player on the Madden 24 power rankings. Henry is one of the greatest Madden players of all time with over $750,000 in career earnings.
Dez vs. KMaC
Dez was the top player last season. He won the Madden 23 Bowl and finished at #1 in the power rankings for Madden 23. He's only 17 years old and has already won over $350,000 from MCS events. KMaC has been around for a long time and is one of the top content creators in the Madden community. He qualified for this live event by coming back from a three score deficit against Fancy.
Drini vs. DaKingg
Drini is one of the biggest names in competitive Madden and has dominated the MCS era. He has over $400,000 in career earnings and two championship belts. He didn't have the year that Dez or Henry had last season, so he's looking to reclaim the top spot with a big win in this tournament. DaKingg is one of the most fun Madden pros to watch. He has always had an unorthodox offensive style involving mobile QBs and some of the best stick skills you'll see at this level of competitive Madden.
Good luck to all of the competitors in the Ultimate Kickoff and we hope to see you in Twitch chat tonight!
