This week's release of the AKA Program brings us Andrew Luck AKA The Captain and Denzel Ward AKA The Warden. Andrew Luck earned his nickname thanks to a parody account on Twitter and his uncanny resemblance to a solider from the Civil War. Luck has embraced the humor and even showed up to Thursday Night Football in his AKA uniform (YouTube).
In 2019 after his rookie season, Denzel Ward appeared on Good Morning Football and was asked by Nate Burleson if he had a nickname yet. Since the young cornerback did not have a moniker, the show's cast offered suggestions. Soon after the show, Denzel Ward announced his nickname selection of "The Warden" on Twitter.
