Check out what's new in Madden NFL 24's Franchise mode below and share your thoughts with us at the end:
Mini-Games
One of the most requested features for Madden has been the return of mini-games. In Madden NFL 24, we're getting these mini-games back in Franchise mode's Training Camp and weekly practice where users can take on the CPU in training-style challenges and exert more control over how players develop through their actual performance. For those who may not be interested in participating in mini-games, the option to simulate will be available. Here's a look at the mini-games coming at launch:
- Target Passing (Quarterbacks)
- Pass Skeleton - Outmanned (Quarterbacks)
- Rushing Attack (Halfbacks and Fullbacks)
- WR Battle (Wide Receivers and Tight Ends)
- WR Battle - Red Zone Attack (Wide Receivers and Tight Ends)
- Trench Battle - The Long Hall (Defensive Line and Linebackers)
- Chase and Tackle (Linebackers)
- DB Battle (Defensive Backs)
- DB Battle - Red Zone Defense (Defensive Backs)
- Field Goal Accuracy (Kickers)
- Coffin Corner (Punters)
Trades and Cap Management
With only 3 trade slots available, pulling off a big trade was sometimes difficult in Madden NFL 23. However, the amount of trade slots in 24 has been doubled for draft picks, giving you a little more room to add value and pull off a trade. You can still only include a maximum of 3 players in a trade, but by including draft picks, you can now trade a total of 6 assets in a deal. Another trade-friendly improvement coming to 24 is the ability to trade draft picks that are two years out instead of just current and next year's picks.
The ability to restructure player contracts and free up space in the short term at the expense of your long-term budget is now an option in 24. The 5th year option for rookie contracts is now being fully integrated into next year's game too.
Commissioner Tools and Settings
Whether you enjoy playing Franchise mode offline or online, customization is always key to the experience. Here are a few improvements being made to commissioner settings:
- Depth Chart Reordering On/Off toggle to accommodate new roster moves
- Edit upcoming Draft Class strength manually from very weak to very strong
- Adjust offensive and defensive play cooldowns independently
- Fantasy Drafts can now be standard or snake formats

- Home Field Advantage can now be toggled On/Off
- Age-based and position-based progression and regression sliders have been added
- Commissioners can set the number of Free Agents a team can negotiate with during each stage of free agency from 1, 3, 5, 10, or unlimited.
- The draft timer can now be toggled On/Off
- Co-commissioners can now advance the draft
- New types of auto-generated prospects have been added including "99 Club", Utility, and Injury Prone
Relocation
Pulling your own Baltimore Colts-style exodus and relocating your franchise has never been easier than in Madden NFL 24. Not only can you relocate a franchise as the coach now, but you will get to select your new city, branding, and stadium as soon as you select "relocate". The following 15 new cities will be available for relocation, bringing the total to 34 cities:
- Albuquerque, New Mexico

- Buenos Aires, Argentina
- Canton, Ohio
- Honolulu, Hawaii
