New Ways to Play
Online H2H
A new rankings system is coming to Online H2H in MUT 25 that focuses on winning games. Win head-to-head games to earn Rank Points and increase your Division. The highest Division will be Legend Rank, which is an exclusive club for the Top 100 Online H2H Madden players in the world. Better rewards can be found at the higher Divisions, including an auctionable player at the end of each session for Top 100 players.
In MUT 25, players will now have the option to select game preferences like time of day and weather, where the home team's settings are applied to each game. The deep dive also mentions upgraded matchmaking but does not elaborate on how that has been adjusted. We'll have to see for ourselves when we get the game!
Weekend Gauntlet
Here's where you will find the best opponents that Madden Ultimate Team has to offer. If you've played College Football Ultimate Team then you're probably familiar with how Weekend Gauntlet works. For those unfamiliar, Weekend Gauntlet opens on Fridays and closes on Mondays. Players who qualified during the week with 16 MUT Champs wins or pay the 50,000 Coin entry fee will have 1 chance that weekend to reach 10 wins before suffering 2 losses. Reach 10 wins and you will receive a Gauntlet-Exclusive player item. If you're 1 of the first 500 people to reach 10 wins that weekend, you will receive an LTD version of the player that comes with more ability power than the standard version. Gauntlet games will be 5-minute quarters on All-Madden difficulty.
6-on-6 Events
All-new 6-on-6 events are coming to MUT 25! The new mode will consist of solo challenges on a field with more open space than we normally see in a traditional 11-on-11 format. It will be interesting to see how this new mode will play and how users construct their teams. The first 6-on-6 event is anticipated to be released sometime in the fall of this year.
Solo Seasons
For offline players, a new, repeatable Solo Seasons mode can be found in MUT 25 that brings an Online H2H Season format offline for players to compete against the CPU in a full season, playoffs, and Super Bowl. Solo Seasons will have Divisions with escalating difficulties, just like Online H2H.
New Challenge Types
New solo challenges known as "Epic Challenges" will be introduced in MUT 25 which will truly test a player's ability. Also, Gridiron Forge challenges will be a permanent fixture in the upcoming game. For those unfamiliar with Gridiron Forge challenges from previous years, they are challenges that gradually get more difficult as you make progress and typically reward an exclusive player item for reaching the end.
Streamlined Experience
New Lineup Experience
Constructing and adjusting a football roster all year can be time-consuming for most players, especially those with limited time to play. To help simplify the process, EA is making the following changes for MUT 25:
- Suggested improvements on the lineup screen and how they impact your team's overall rating
- Suggested strategy items and the players that the items impact
- A new drag-and-drop substitution method meant to speed up roster adjustments
- 6-on-6 lineup management on the same lineup screen as your normal lineup, meant to reduce the number of lineup screens to adjust
More Seasons, More Content
The Gridiron Notes strongly emphasize more content and seasons for Madden Ultimate Team than we've ever seen! A total of 8 MUT Seasons are planned for MUT 25 consisting of fan-favorite programs we've seen in the past and brand-new programs meant to keep the game fresh all year.
What are you most looking forward to in MUT 25?
