In this article, we wanted to create a guide showcasing some of the best Solo Challenge methods you can use to complete challenges and objectives as quickly and efficiently as possible! Whether you’re brand new to the game or a seasoned veteran, there should be some info that caters to you, so let’s get into it!
Looking for the right Challenge to complete Objectives:
Difficulty
Ideally, you want to play challenges on the easiest (1-star) difficulty to make objectives easier to complete since they are on the Arcade game mode. If you want to play Solo Battles, Rookie difficulty is going to be the one you want to play.
Offense
When looking for a Solo Challenge to complete Offensive Objectives, one key part is to look for the challenge completion requirements to be something like "Score a touchdown this drive" or "Throw/Rush for X amount of yards this drive." The requirement of "This drive" is a very important part as the challenge will end when you complete the task and you can restart to keep grinding for your objective.
There are other instances where (ex.) you may need passing yards and there's a challenge that starts you at the 15-yard line and requires 20+ rushing yards this drive to complete. In this case, you can pass for the 85 yards, and fail the challenge, but the recorded stats WILL still count toward your objectives.
This may be a pretty obvious one, but to some MUT Rookies, this could help: The approach for challenges that require 2 objectives to complete Ex. Rush for 35+ yards this drive AND Pass for 20+ Yards in 3 plays should be to do the passing yards first so within the 3 plays, then end the challenge by doing the rushing yards. Getting the "In 3 Plays" objective out of the way first will be best because you will have the rest of the drive to complete the other objective.
Bonus Star Objectives: Always keep in mind what your bonus star objectives are and try to knock them out first. Typically have a play limit and it's best to knock them out as quickly as possible.
Defense
When looking for a Defensive Solo Challenge, challenges with requirements like "Don't allow X amount of yards this drive" are best. You can look out for specific requirements for the objectives you're trying to complete like if you need sacks and the requirement for the challenge is "Get a sack" you can do that and the challenge will restart after every sack.
Tips and Tricks
Offense
One very important note for ANY solo where a Touchdown ends the challenge, you can showboat (LT/L2 + RT/R2) into the end zone and it will end immediately if done correctly. See the video for an example of a successful and non-successful showboat.
If the score doesn’t matter and you want the ball back quickly, you can call field goal defense and let the CPU score.
Defense
In a defensive solo where it says “Don’t allow X this drive” you can call goal line defense, go offsides and let them score. The challenge won't end immediately though, you will have to get the ball back and punt it back to the CPU which should end the challenge. I prefer using the 60 Out Jacks play from the 6-2 Goal Line formation.

Completions
You can get a guaranteed completion by calling a “Jet Touch Pass” which can be found in almost every playbook.
Passing Yards
If you're in need of some passing yards, the best thing to do is go into a Solo Challenge that starts you on your own 25-yard line or further back (keeping in mind what was mentioned above) and do the challenge as many times as you need to complete the objective. In terms of play-calling, you can call Four Verts or Hot Route WRs to Streaks and they should be able to blow by the lower-difficulty DBs.
Rushing Yards
There are 2 ways to get rushing yards, the first being the traditional way of calling a run play and gaining the yards. The other way is to call a pass play like Four Verts, complete the pass, and LATERAL the ball to your teammate behind you. This will count as rushing yards and really help if you have a slower HB or just want to complete objectives faster.
Defense
Fumbles/Hit Sticks
Fumbles and Hit Sticks may seem like a tricky objective but if you go into a Rookie Solo Battle or a 1-star solo challenge on Arcade, you can easily force fumbles with Hit Sticks. The best tip here is to call Prevent 3-Deep Defense, and back everyone up (using the Y/Triangle and Up on the Left Stick to Give Cushion). I would recommend going for a Hit Stick rather than a strip. You will cause way more fumbles with Hit Sticks. Sometimes it is better to try to strip the QB when he’s being wrapped up in a sack.
Interceptions
There is a pretty popular method that people have used over the years in Solo Battles: Come out in Punt Block 44 Even - Punt 8 Up Safe Man, wait until the offense audibles and audible to Punt Safe - Punt Safe Man, user the Outside DB, and try to bait the QB by playing off-coverage. If you’re having trouble with that method, you can call something like Cover 2 Man, reduce the pass rush by putting some D-Lineman a Spy or Zone assignment, and user whoever you’re most comfortable with to try to get a pick.
Sacks
Sending something like a Mid Blitz from Nickel 2-4 DBL Mug or any Cover 0 blitz vs. the CPU will generate the most sacks.
Tackles
I personally like to get tackles naturally in Solos or H2H, but if you want to grind them quickly in a solo challenge or solo battle, you can do the same method as hit sticks by backing off coverage and coming up to make the tackle. You don’t want to hit stick unless you need fumbles.
I hope this guide will be a great reference for the whole year and beyond! If you have any methods that I didn't mention please drop them in the comments. We'd love to hear what other methods you may have!
