Hey MUT fans! We’re back with another top 10 list. This week we’re revisiting wide receivers. The last time we ranked the best WRs in the game was all the way back in September when we had 90 OVR Michael Crabtree on top. Obviously, a lot has changed since then. Here is our current list:
Top 10 WRs in MUT 23
1. 97 OVR Harold Carmichael
There was no disagreement between us on the best WR in MUT right now. Harold Carmichael was the clear choice. He’s 6’8” with 96 speed, 98 jumping, and 95+ in all route running ratings. Carmichael can equip Short Out Elite for 0 AP to help beat man press on the outside along with Route Technician or Deep Out Elite for just 1 AP. He also gets Legends and Eagles chemistry, two of the best theme teams in the game. He dominates on the outside, and if you can afford him at just under a million coins, you should strongly consider adding him to your lineup.
2. 97 OVR A.J. Green
A.J. Green’s Career Tribute item comes in at number 2. He’s 6’4” with 96 speed and ability discounts that make him incredibly versatile. In one of his custom ability slots Green can equip Red Zone Threat, Route Technician, Short Out Elite, or WR Apprentice, each for 0 AP. He can equip Short In Elite for just 1 AP as well. He also comes with 98 release, which makes him very hard to press, especially if you equip Short Out Elite.
3. 97 OVR Marquez Valdes-Scantling
MVS came in at #2 in last week’s list that ranked the top 10 Super Bowl players. Check out that list to see why we’re such big fans of this player item.
4. 97 OVR Julian Edelman
Edelman followed MVS in last week’s list too. While MVS is best suited to play outside, Edelman is dominant in the slot. He’s still the only player that gets Slot-O-Matic for 0 AP and his archetype allows him to equip Short In Elite for just 1 AP without any discounts.
5. 97 OVR Justin Jefferson
Justin Jefferson’s amazing season resulted in his first Offensive Player of the Year award. Jefferson’s NFL Honors item in MUT is one of the best WRs in the game right now. He has top-end speed (97) along with great ability discounts. In his first custom ability slot, he gets Deep Out Elite, Route Technician, Short In Elite, or Short Out Elite for 0 AP. You can also add Slot-O-Matic or Red Zone Threat to that for just 1 AP.
6. 97 OVR George Pickens
George Pickens has 99 impact blocking, which is somehow better than any offensive lineman or full back in the game. He gets Honorary Lineman for 0 AP and that allows him to dominate outside blocks on DBs. He also has 97 SPD and receiving ratings that are comparable to the other guys on this list. If you’re a run-first player, Pickens is easily the most valuable WR in MUT for your scheme.
7. 97 OVR Scary Terry
Scary Terry not only has some of the best art in the game, he’s one of the best wide receivers too. He can equip both Short In Elite and Short Out Elite for 1 AP total, which allows him to get separation against man coverage regardless of where he’s lined up. With 97 speed, 97 agility, and 98 change of direction, he’s tough for defensive backs to cover.
8. 97 OVR D-Hop
We don’t quite understand why EA went with “D-Hop” instead of “Nuk”, but they did a pretty good job of designing the card. Just like Scary Terry, he can get both Short In Elite and Short Out Elite for a combined 1 AP. D-Hop also gets a special Double Me X-Factor for 1 AP that can help him win in 1-on-1 situations. We’ve had mixed results with Double Me this season, but at the very least it gives your opponents one more thing to worry about all game long.
9. 97 OVR Cooper Kupp
We locked in our picks for this week's list before Kupp was released, so he’s the only player we included that we don’t have experience playing with or against. That said, he looks like a respectable slot receiver. He gets Short In Elite for 0 AP along with your choice of Red Zone Threat, Route Technician, or Slot-O-Matic for just 1 AP.
10. 96 OVR Cheetah
Cheetah is the only 96 OVR player to make this list. Even though he was released over a month ago, he’s still a great choice at WR. He has 97 speed, 97 acceleration, 97 agility, and 98 change of direction. He’s tough to guard. Cheetah gets Short Out Elite for 0 AP along with Route Technician or Slot-O-Matic for 1 AP. Don’t forget about his special YAC ‘em Up ability which significantly increases his chances to break the first tackle after every catch while he’s in the zone.
Give Us Your Feedback
