Gameplay
BOOM Tech
In a nutshell, BOOM Tech is FieldSENSE from M23 but with more innovation on the original vision of lessening the feeling of scripted or pre-determined outcomes, resulting in a more authentic gameplay experience.
Physics-Based Tackling
The Physics-Based Tackling system introduced in recent years takes its next step in M25 with a greater focus on timing, momentum, weight, speed, strength, and player ratings that affect 1-on-1 interactions, leading to a wider variety of authentic outcomes. (PS5, Xbox X|S, PC only)
Reloaded Hit Stick
After being introduced in Madden 2005 and completely changing how the game is played, the Hit Stick is being improved for Madden NFL 25. The timing-based tackling mechanic will include visual indicators for immediate on-field feedback, new sound effects, and rumble effects, all impacted by variables such as angle of impact, stick skill, and accuracy. The Truck/Cut Stick on offense will also be improved. (PS5, Xbox X|S, PC only)
Ball Carrier Control
A new Ball Carrier Balance and Recovery System is coming to Madden NFL 25. The goal of this new system is to provide more realistic outcomes based on overall quality and relevant player ratings involved in a hit. If a defender's Hit Stick isn't precise, better ball carriers will break the tackle and recover their balance faster.
Foundational Football
In the never-ending quest for a more authentic gameplay experience, FieldSENSE in Madden NFL 25 will see improvements in the following areas:
- Innovated passing, catching, blocking, and coverages
- Intelligent ball carrier mechanics
- New playbooks with a wider variety of playstyles
- Authentic pre-snap and post-play animations
