If a DB cant get one step ahead what is better? Inside or outside shade?

Generally speaking, inside shade is better since it helps against more of the good man beating routes and compressed formations like bunch that are popular. Though if you have a DB that's almost always defending a receiver who lines up outside the numbers outside shade is better.

You'll typically want to use Inside Shade. Most man beating routes your opponent runs are going to start from inside the numbers, where Inside Shade will help.

do any of the shades work with zone coverages?
