I've got million coin receivers getting pressed, but I can't throw it deep to them without getting picked. What's the deal?

89. No wonder. I can't believe I over looked that.

As long as it's over 85 you shouldn't be seeing much of an issue due to his accuracy rating.
Few things to keep in mind when throwing deep...
- Timing is important. If you throw it too late, you'll allow the corner to get back into the play
- Use LB (xbox) or L1 (playstation) to throw a "high ball" which leads the receiver a bit more on deep balls
- Use the free form mechanic to pass lead the ball in front of the receiver to help keep it away from the defensive back
Unless your opponent is doing dumb stuff like pressing without help over the top, you have to pick route combinations that manipulate/beat whatever deep zone coverages are set up. Get in the lab and experiment to find route combos that can crack open 2-deep, 3-deep and Cover 4. The hardest lesson to learn is to anticipate the receiver getting open and using free form to throw him open (just as he's catching a safety turned the wrong way for example). If you see that the receiver is already wide open at the time you start throwing it, you're often too late because a DB is likely already rallying to pick you off.
if you change your free form setting from near to far, you can throw farther. you might overthrow more often but it wont get intercepted

I've been using 7/20 on Near with Placement & Accuracy enabled. Instead of constantly leading the ball up or towards the sideline, i need to get better about throwing to my receivers and pass leading DOWN and perhaps away (towards sideline), so i have a chance to manually click on my receiver and come back for the ball.

Its also easier to do that on far 17/20

I don't think i'm quite ready to make that leap -- i had briefly considered dropping back to 6/20 on Near. I'm not a particularly great passer, i need to put some time into this, but at a certain point, labbing against CPU in practice mode can only take me so far. I need to be able to do it in live games.

17/20 far opens up a whole new kind of offense. you'll really feel like you have control with ball placement. 7/20 near i can barely tell the difference between free form and normal pass leads

Thanks for schooling me on this. I need to do something to improve my offense, it's odd to be more comfortable on D in a year that is so heavily tilted towards scoring points. Closest thing to simulation about the game.
