Seen a lot of people saying they can’t beat mid blitz recently, so I’ll explain how I beat it.
I like to run formations out of Shotgun vs mid blitz, and with a tight end lined up at TE.
Something important to note: this doesn’t work if your tight end is lined up at WR. I usually use formations like Trips Te or Trey against mid blitz.
First, you’ll want to block your running back.
Next, put your tight end on a streak.
From someone on the opposite side of the TE, put them on a slant, motion them over to the side of the TE and snap the ball.
Immediately after snapping the ball, you’ll notice the TE is wide open streaking down the field.
Your opponent will rarely have time to get back to the tight end, but in the event that they do, you’ll have the motion slant.
Occasionally, you can also put your running back on a flat route and throw to him. He will be wide open unless the opponent is usering him.
Just remember that it’s not always best to do this because you may get sacked.
One last variation is to motion your running back out of the backfield to a WR spot, and put him on a streak or a slant.
Usually guys who run mid blitz will have their user manned up on the RB, so he will be open unless they user it, and in that case you throw a check down.
